In a new limited-edition series, Harley-Davidson is celebrating muscle car culture and its racing heritage with the introduction of Fast Johnnie, the 2023 addition to the Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection of limited-run bikes. Believe it or not, the McLaren P1 is now 10 years old, and Mclaren is celebrating its first decade anniversary since the P1 first appeared at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This was also coincidentally 60 years after Bruce McLaren founded the firm. Exclusive and highly desirable (due to limited numbers) when it was first revealed, the McLaren P1 sold out within mere months, and all 375 cars were allocated soon after and sent to the far ends of the globe.

The McLaren P1 pioneered electrification in supercars 10 years ago when it was launched at the Geneva Motor Show.


This is a tried and tested formula from Mercedes - take a loud boisterous engine, throw it into one of their cars, and magic happens. In the past, this would have meant a guzzling V8 or V12, with lots of other performance trinkets that turn their cars into undercover street weapons. However, due to tighter emission standards and the quest for cleaner cars, Mercedes has replaced this formula with smaller displacements. The new Mercedes CLS 53 for example now comes with a smaller turbocharged inline-6 banger. This charity drive is scheduled to be held from 2nd December to 8th December 2022. In order to participate, one would have to own a car which is above 25 years old. However, unlike previous iterations, this year’s itinerary would be more exclusive, as the group is limiting total convoy capacity to just 8 cars.

Half the engine, half the fun?


These aren’t your average run-of-the-mill supercars, but rather cars that shatter world records and achieve speeds most others can only dream of. It all started with the company’s speed-crazed founder, Christian Von Koenigsegg. At the age of 22, Christian was fascinated with the idea of building cars. After trading in his food business, he amassed just enough capital to finance what would later become his multi-million dollar hypercar empire, now based in Angelhom, Sweden. Today, it’s common to see different automakers sharing parts and outsourcing in order to cut costs. However, that’s not the case with Koenigsegg. These artisans make almost everything in-house, even the most trivial of things like wiper blades. The benefit? By designing every part to their specifications, Koenigsegg has managed to innovate some game-changing technologies over the years.

We start with a name and a style that’s all too common in the modified car scene these days: Pandem/Rocket Bunny. They’re a line of wide body kits by a company called TRA Kyoto, brainchild of a certain Kei Miura. He designs, builds and sells kits for a huge variety of cars, from classics like the Nissan Fairlady Z and BMW E30, to JDM favourites like the Nissan Silvia and Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ, to modern stuff like the Toyota GR Supra and Yaris, and even the C8 Corvette!

To continue its run of success in the internationally established GT4 category, BMW M Motorsport has released the new BMW M4 GT4.


With a dearth of knowledge in Singapore on EV systems in general, the students faced a bigger challenge building the R22e than usual. While the teams in charge of the chassis, aerodynamics, and suspension tuning had the benefit of their predecessor’s experience and data to guide them, those in charge of the electric powertrain found themselves thrown in the deep end. From programming the motor controller to even proper safe handling procedures for high-voltage electrical components, there were a lot of lessons learnt in the R22e’s journey, which has implications not just for NUS’s FSAE team, but eventually for the automotive sector in Singapore, particularly once the students enter the workforce.

When road cars are "inspired by F1", it's usually just lip service. Here are three that take the claim very seriously


Back in the '80s, during F1's original turbo era, Porsche was an engine supplier, providing McLaren Racing with a 1.5-litre twin-turbo V6. But before putting it into the race car, it had to be tested, and for that, McLaren and Porsche stuck it unmodified into a 930 Turbo test mule. This white prototype - largely unmodified save for 17-inch RUF wheels, a front bumper from the 930 Flatnose, and a taller whaletail engine cover with extra vents - was kept secret by McLaren until it surfaced in the middle of last decade.

With the new Unlimited range by German wheel manufacturer BBS however, that’s about to change. Under this new “one size fits all” philosophy, BBS Unlimited wheels will only be made in one bolt pattern - 5x117.5. The wheels then mount up via adapters that match the car’s bolt pattern.
