During the first few years, I must say it was well taken care of; servicing intervals were adhered to religiously and it was sent for regular polishing. Barely a year into this new appointment, Aston Martin's CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, is swapping his business suit for a race suit as he lines up alongside three fellow drivers to campaign a V8 Vantage GT4.


As I walked to our 4C test car, I couldn’t help but wish they had given us one painted in red. The white paint on our car swallowed up all the curves and didn’t do it justice. The 4C’s shape was refined over many hours in the wind tunnel so that it works aerodynamically to provide negative lift at speed and a low Cd of 0.35.

We start off with one of the cars most eagerly anticipated by the average enthusiast, something that mere mortals can actually afford - the new Honda Civic Type R. When the previous-generation FD and FN Civic Type Rs ended production in 2011 due to tightening emissions regulations, we weren't sure if we'd see another zingy, righ-revving Honda Type R again. Sadly, we won't. But luckily, instead of throwing in the towel, Honda has adapted with the times, and decided to turbocharge the Civic Type R, making it cleaner and meaner in the process. How much meaner exactly? Well, how does outputs of 306 bhp and 400 Nm @ 2500 rpm, a top speed of 270 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 5.7s and Nurburgring FWD record time of 7m 50.6s sound to you? Certainly puts the 'hot' in hot hatch for us!

Handling wise, the Captur feels relatively tight and assuring with predictable body movements despite standing 100 mm taller than the Clio. The steering however, could do with slightly more weight and feel; while it’s God sent for driving around town, when you do want to have a little bit more fun, it seems a little inappropriate.

So there you have it, the 911 C4S Cabriolet retaining Porsche’s ethos still. As a cabriolet, it's simply complete. There’s nothing to fault this car, as everything is well thought out, engineered and put together with no compromises at all; till now, I am still highly impressed as to how Porsche can manage to sort out the entire chassis and make it a solid package - in more ways than one - just to cope with demanding drivers.

This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds; top speed is 295 km/h. The car\'s NEDC fuel consumption is 9.7 km/L, equivalent to 238 g/km CO2.

Brand new track in Kranji a major boost to Singapore’s flagging motorsports scene.


This means the Boxster GTS now has an output of 330 bhp while the Cayman GTS delivers 340 bhp. Nominal torque has also been increased, with 370 Nm available from 4,500 rpm to 5,800 rpm for the Boxster GTS and 380 Nm from 4,750 rpm to 5,800 rpm for the Cayman GTS. This boost in performance also drives the power-to-weight ratio of the Cayman GTS below the four kg per hp barrier; the Boxster GTS is also close to this barrier.
