The new drivetrain is set to feature in its next plug-in hybrid replacement after the Aventador. Aside from the fact that it will be the marque's first plug-in hybrid, the main highlight statistic of the model, codenamed LB744, is the fact that it will get an output in excess of 1,000bhp. What’s more, the LB744 is the first supercar to be fitted with a 100% carbon fibre front structure. Carbon fibre is also used for the front cone structures to ensure added safety, plus a substantial reduction in weight. This car will also be different from the Lamborghini Sian, which pioneered the use of electric power in any raging bull courtesy of supercapacitors. The LB744 would instead be run with lithium-ion batteries.

The Automobili Lamborghini Museum has officially reopened following a redesign and new layout. This reopening marks the start of Lamborghini’s 60th-anniversary celebrations, and an important year ahead for the Sant'Agata Bolognese company. The museum has changed its name and been entirely remodelled, both in its modernised layout and design and in its exhibits. The newly-created exhibition “THE FUTURE BEGAN IN 1963”, retraces the most emblematic eras and representative moments that mark the history of Lamborghini's first 60 years.

Lamborghini is kicking off its 60th-anniversary celebrations in Sant'Agata Bolognese with a new exhibition titled “The Future Began in 1963”.


It’s been 16 years since the Nissan R35 GT-R made its debut back in 2007. Not many cars survive that long of a production run, but the boffins at Nissan surprised the world again with the launch of the 2024 GT-R model year, after revealing earlier in 2022 that the R35 GT-R will be ending production. Ageing chassis infrastructure did not stop engineers from chucking both mechanical and cosmetic improvements to the GT-R. For starters, the biggest reaction from the crowd at its launch was the inclusion of new daytime running lights (DRLs), making the GT-R’s front fascia look more futuristic.

The relevant dictionary definition of ‘Spectre’, as applied in context to Rolls-Royce, is “a ghost.” Fitting, since Rollers past have been named after other-worldly entities such as Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Spirit, Seraph and Shadow. However, one cannot help but to think of the other definition, “something widely feared as a possible unpleasant or dangerous occurrence”, which could also be apropos given the current global geopolitical situation in late-2022. One then has to wonder if Rolls-Royce has a morbidly-ironic sense of humor when they named their latest car, or if it is just mere coincidence. Someone who wasn’t thinking of the latter definition, surely, was Charles Rolls, whose name forms one-half of Rolls-Royce. In 1900, Charles acquired The Columbia Electric Carriage, and the (possible) futurist in him foresaw electric vehicles (EVs) as clean, noiseless alternatives to the internal combustion engine. 120 years later, his prophecy has been fulfilled by Rolls-Royce’s first-ever EV, the Spectre.

These artisans make almost everything in-house, even the most trivial of things like wiper blades. The benefit? By designing every part to their specifications, Koenigsegg has managed to innovate some game-changing technologies over the years.

Ok, so it isn’t a full-fat M car like the M3 or M5, but rather a warmed-over M Performance model, like the M340i and M440i. Hence the double digit number in the M badge, and the demure bodywork. Still, with the ease with which electric drivetrains develop power, the i4 M50 is the brawniest model in the 3/4 Series range… For a very short while at least. One of its driving modes is called Sport Boost, which unlocks the car’s full 400kW/544hp and 795Nm of torque for up to 10 seconds at a time, a fair bit more than the M3 and M4 Competition’s 510hp and 650Nm. Otherwise, the i4 M50 normally puts out 350kW/476hp, and 730Nm.

Peugeot is the first mainstream car manufacturer to join the series after a sweeping revamp of the technical regulations, and made its competition return this weekend at the 6 Hours of Monza, the 4th round in the 6-race 2022 WEC season. Its weapon of choice? The new 9X8 Hypercar. Here’s a video of its very first lap in action: It was initially hoped that the 9X8 could make its live debut at the 2022 Le Mans 24h, but the newly-formed Team Peugeot TotalEnergies elected to skip that and instead focus on further testing to ensure the car’s race-readiness. This included a 15,000km test session and a marathon 36-hour endurance run to put the crew and their processes through their paces before wading into battle.
