Gas Gas Gas... but not really. Toyota is showing us once again that saving the planet doesn’t necessarily mean giving up fun and exciting cars to drive, as shown by these AE86 concepts.


Has the horsepower arms race ended yet? If cars like the car tested here are anything to go by, Subaru could well be at the leading edge of a new movement. Yet, the surprise is that it might not be a bad thing. The Subaru Forester e-Boxer 2.0i-S Eyesight Hybrid as the car tested here is called in full makes all of 150hp and 194Nm of torque. Quite a long way off the heady days when the mighty 2.0XT made up to 240hp less than a decade ago. The downside of the XT however, was its woeful fuel efficiency as it came with a four-speed automatic and needed a heavy weight engine oil and had to be fed high octane petrol. Add all-wheel drive into the mix and you’ve got a recipe for a proper guzzler. These days, when fuel prices being what they are, the Forester needs to work smarter, not harder to stay relevant in the market. To this end, Subaru has done exactly that. According to BMW Group, their future “is electric, circular and digital”, and the i Vision Dee concept is dedicated to the ‘digital’ aspect of the triumvirate. Can’t wait to see what the ‘circular’ concept will look like.

Valentino Rossi certainly needs no introduction. He is a nine-time motorcycle world champion, and is one of the most successful motorcycle riders of all time and has a whole roster of records to his name. Can you believe Gran Turismo is already 25 years old? Yes, that video game you probably played growing up.


Among the drivers, Mr Akio Toyoda himself, President & CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation, and founder and team owner of ROOKIE Racing participated under the driver name “Morizo”. The Idemitsu Super Endurance race lasted 25 hours and was held in Thailand on December 17th and 18th. This race was a significant milestone, as it was the first time that Toyota’s hydrogen technology has been used in a race outside Japan. Toyota’s main aim when participating in the Thailand 25-hour Endurance Race and Carbon Neutral Power Cup is to showcase the feasibility of carbon neutrality in motorsports. This was also a great opportunity for Toyota to demonstrate its multiple-pathway approach to accelerate its actions towards total Carbon Neutrality.

At the start of November, the peace and tranquillity of Cha-Am Beach was shattered by the roar of thumping V-Twin engines and thundering music. 


Formula One hasn’t turned a wheel in anger at the Nuburgring’s Nordschleife since 1976, but now, it’s back with a bang. That’s because Mercedes-AMG has just claimed the Green Hell lap record with its One hypercar, with a 6min 35.183sec lap around the 20.8km circuit. That’s 8 seconds faster than the previous record for road-legal cars, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR (a GT2 RS with aero and handling mods by Manthey Racing), and 13 seconds faster than the previous production car record holder, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

BeyonCa is exciting news for Singapore, as the new EV brand is founded by one of our own. BeyonCa’s founder is Singaporean Soh Weiming, an auto industry stalwart who built his reputation turning around car companies in China. At the age of 30, he brought Mercedes-Benz into China. He later joined Volkswagen China, spending 16 years with the German auto manufacturer. Mr Soh is concurrently the CEO of Renault China. Its executive team comprises a team of premium car industry veterans, as well as technology experts from consumer electronics and Internet companies. The company has set up an office in Singapore with plans for a local R&D hub in future and has the backing of China’s Dongfeng Group and other international investors. Already in the works in their proposed first model, the new BeyonCa GT Opus 1. It’s built from the ground up as an “out of this world” premium EV experience, and BeyonCa is confident it can stand toe to toe with other current generation high-end EVs already on the market.

Premium smart electric vehicle (EV) maker BeyonCa has recently announced its global debut, launching with the all-new Gran Turismo Opus 1.


Škoda is expanding its RS family to include another EV model. It’s (creatively) dubbed the Enyaq iV RS, and just like its coupe sibling, the Czech carmaker has opted for a dual motor all-wheel drive setup with a total power output of 220 kW (299 PS) and 460 Nm of instant torque. Interestingly enough, this makes both RS versions of the Enyaq iV family the most powerful models currently in Škoda's lineup.

Now with a new seventh-generation under its belt the new 7-Series, which debuted in Singapore earlier this week, fuses controversial styling with a hearty smorgasbord of tech gadgets to offer customers an elevated next-generation luxury experience. The model has taken design cues from other existing BMW luxury models, including the X7 and i7. According to the Bavarian automaker, this design language will continue to develop with future iterations, providing more distinction between these high-end models and other more “affordable” BMW models. Whether you love or hate the new design of the new BMW 7 Series, it is definitely an imposing design choice by the designers. Striking features include the new twin circular headlights, with a split design, and a gigantic BMW kidney grille, both signature BMW design elements. Adaptive LED Headlights come as standard, with BMW’s Selective Beam assistant and custom light effects when unlocking and locking the car. To give the lights a “shimmering” effect, individual LEDs are integrated with crystals from Swarovski, arranged in L-shapes. Like the front end, the rear also features slim LED light units.
