It features a 5.2-litre V10 engine with 610 hp, reaches a top speed of over 325 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The power generated by the ten-cylinder is delivered to the road via the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) and an all-wheel drive that also features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Three different driving modes, spanning from road to race track, can be selected using a drive select switch in the steering wheel. The system is called ANIMA —Â AdaptiveÂ NetworkÂ Intelligent Management - and impacts the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive and the ESC handling system as well as other dynamic systems.

Anyway, back to the plot. The Evoque was treated with much respect (in 'Dynamic' mode, no less): late braking, hard flicks, flooring the accelerator when traffic permits, taking corners like a hot-hatch. In other words, I drove it like I just stole it, went to rob a bank and am racing towards the Malaysian border — except I am (a) no where as buffed as Channing Tatum nor (b) as bad-ass as Stallone. Every single day for half a week, I drove that way. Journey to the office has not been this fun and fast (sorry Range Rover, the M235i still blew my mind moaarr).

As the leading Japanese hybrid automaker, Lexus has no intention of slowing down on its developments. A quick look at their current lineup is enough proof.

Together, the four GFRP springs reduce the weight by roughly 4.4 kilograms, half of which pertains to the unsprung mass, helping the suspension to react more quickly to changes in the road surface and to absorb imperfections more effectively.The core of the springs consists of long glass fibres twisted together and impregnated with epoxy resin. A machine wraps additional fibres around this core - which is only a few millimetres in diameter - at alternating angles of plus and minus 45 degrees to the longitudinal axis. These tension and compression plies mutually support one another to optimally absorb the stresses acting on the component.The GFRP springs can be precisely tuned to their respective task, and the material exhibits outstanding properties. It does not corrode, even after stone chipping, and is impervious to chemicals such as wheel cleaners. Last but not least, production requires far less energy than the production of steel springs.

On the outside, the CLA45 looks pretty much like a Sport-kitted CLA. Which is, erm, not good. I expected flared arches and a fatter bodykit, but no. Put them side by side, and you would probably be very hard-pressed to tell the difference between a CLA45 AMG and a Sport-kitted CLA200 with AMG-styled wheels. Perhaps they are saving the more aggressive look for the Black Series? Whatever the case, your $300K is not getting you a very different looking CLA.
