The weight of the NSX project laid mostly on your shoulders. What are the three things that inspired you while engineering this car?Certainly I’m the large project leader, but the nice thing about working on this project is that I work with a group of passionate people around me. So I think the ‘weight’ is nicely distributed, giving me confidence everyday.The three things that inspired me? Well, I think people tend to look at the NSX as ‘just a product’; but actually it’s a concept created by Honda, the brand’s pinnacle sports car at that. I met the original team behind the original NSX, and that meeting alone inspired me to recreate the core essence of the NSX — we needed to bring that back, along with new technology. The second thing that inspired me was meeting certain people within the organization; without the need for any proof, they just jumped into this crazy project, with brand new technologies, and sticking to the timeline. It’s just inspiring to see these people take up that challenge.Lastly it’s meeting the NSX owners group and observing how passionate they are. They’re a diverse bunch — at the same time, very open-minded, encouraging us to make something new and world-class.

Historically one of Singapore’s most popular family sedans, the all-new 10th-generation Honda Civic has now arrived, with a radically sportier look and for the first time, a turbocharged engine.


The BMW M5 Competition Edition uses an even more powerful version of the twin-turbo V8 found in the standard BMW M5. While retaining the M TwinPower Turbo technology, twin-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct fuel injection, Valvetronic variable valve control and the cross-bank exhaust manifold of the standard car, the Competition Edition runs more boost courtesy of a recalibrated ECU. Maximum power is up from 560 hp to 600 hp, with the peak torque of the V8 rising from 680 Nm to 700 Nm. As a result, the M5 Competition Edition can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, compared to 4.4 seconds for the standard car. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. BMW’s seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission Drivelogic and Efficient Dynamics technology, including engine Auto Start-Stop and Brake Energy Regeneration comes standard.Improved handling comes courtesy of stiffer responses from the springs and electronically controlled dampers, along with thicker anti-roll bars. The Active M electronically controlled multi-plate limited slip differential, which intervenes rapidly and precisely at an early stage to control wheelspin and keep the car stable, is recalibrated for an even more sporty response. Once again, there are three Drive Control settings to choose from: Comfort for normal road use, Sport when a more dynamic driving style is preferred and Sport Plus for the most extreme driving, such as on a race track. Six-piston caliper brakes are mounted within the 20-inch M Double-spoke 601M light alloy wheels.

For this test, the aerodynamics were closely scrutinised by the engineers. “The freedom allowed by the FIA regulations offers us a much larger range of possible solutions than before,” says project manager for the 2017 World Rally Car, Alexis Avril. “The bodywork of the WRC must entirely cover that of the original model and the maximum width is set at 1875mm. In this framework, we have a lot of freedom to design the wheel arches and bumpers. We can also create air intakes for re-cooling the rear brakes and add on a diffuser. Paradoxically, there are more restrictions for the design of the rear wing than today, but its efficiency will be increased tenfold by its further backed and raised positioning.”

The Vanquish Zagato Concept was designed in close collaboration between the Aston Martin Design team, led by Marek Reichman, and Andrea Zagato with his dedicated design team in Milan. Developed and engineered at Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, England the new bodywork is entirely shaped from carbon fibre, with the split lines on the body reduced by the use of large one-piece panels. New lights include round tail light reflectors that evoke the classic rear view of a Zagato design, incorporating the same 'bladed' LED technology as the track-only Aston Martin Vulcan.

Aston Martin and Italian design house Zagato announce the Vanquish Zagato Concept, the latest creation from their long-standing partnership


The similar, new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder flat engine seen in the 718 Boxster are being deployed in the 718 Cayman. As a result, both coupé and roadster have an identical engine output for the first time - the entry-level version starts with 300 hp. The S model has more, delivering 350 hp courtesy of a bigger 2.5 litre engine; it gets 25 hp more power compared to the predecessor models.

The fourth, redeveloped generation of the mid-engine sport coupé debuts in Singapore just a few weeks after the 718 Boxster


Built around a stiff structural monocoque using carbon fibre, titanium and Kevlar, it claims to be the only supercar to also use graphene, a material that is made up of a layer of pure carbon atoms that are arranged in a honeycomb structure. The result is a light, flexible and strong element, and the GTA Spano has quite a bit of it.

EuroSports Global, known for bringing in the 'raging bulls' you see on our roads, adds a 'wolf' into its list of brands.


The new 911 is now fitted with an all-new 3.0-litre twin turbocharged flat-six engine, meaning the new base model of the range boasts a respectable 370 hp; this is 20 more than the naturally-aspirated engine. Acceleration has improved too, with smoother gear shifting to enhance the overall performance even further. One step up from the Carrera, the Carrera S delivers 420 hp and has a top speed of 308 km/h; with Sport Chrono Package, it does the 0-100 km/h sprint in only 3.9 seconds. This is the first 911 in the Carrera family to do it in under 4 seconds.
