Super GT 2010 - Team 365 ThunderAsia | Race Day

We had the privilege of spending an intimate weekend with Singaporean team 356 ThunderAsia with drivers Melvin Choo and Tim Sugden along with their gorgeous Mosler MT900 race car.

Hence, on 19 September 2010, the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) will be organising the Singapore Green One (Singapore G1), featuring races like the Soap Box Car Race, Eco Car Race, Buggy Race, Trishaw Race and other activities like walking, cycling and skating. SEC aims to raise awareness of the green technology available, that alternative energy options are commercially viable, and to encourage the use of cleaner and more cost-effective modes of transportation like public transport. At the same time, Singapore G1 promotes simple lifestyle changes like walking, cycling or skating.

'Blur' is basically an amalgam of 'Need for Speed Underground' and 'Super Mario Kart'. I started off the game by playing in 'Career' mode, with grandiose notions of being Mad Max assailing my mind. The game play is pretty straightforward as I progressed through a series of race events that required me to defeat my rivals on the streets and taking their vehicles. The ultimate aim is to get into the 'One-on-One' mode, but I must first fulfill a series of tasks that consists of a certain number of criteria as I competed in other events that included 'Race', 'Destruction' and 'Checkpoint'.

Activision's 'Blur' is a fast-paced racing game that requires decisions to be made in the blink of an eye.

At first glance, if one can get past the looks and drive this car proper, he or she will be amazed at what the Octavia vRS can offer. What we have here is a near clone of Volkswagen's highly sought after hot hatch, in fact you can call it a Golf GTI in guises of either a sedan or an estate, each offering more boot space than a hatchback with the latter being the roomiest of them all.

Back in 2000, we drove Skoda's 150bhp Octavia 1.8T - which was a real riot! 10 years on, the riot's turned into a full-on violent rampage in the form of this Octavia vRS!

As with all hatchbacks, the Golf is easy to manage and park, mummies who drive will be happy to know that. It also looks fairly non-descript in an HDB carpark so it won't attract any unwanted attention. Side mirrors feature useful parking lamps to illuminate dark spaces.

New to the Burnpavement garage is a sexy Mazda RX-8. Finished in deep purple, this rotary-powered coupÃ© will double up as a demo car for our BorlaÂ® exhaust systems set to arrive in 2 weeks.

Disc brakes are fitted to all wheels, with ventilated discs and Brembo double piston, fixed calipers at the front. Suspension is derived from a tried and tested Abarth configuration with the front provided by independent McPherson struts, while rear suspension is semi-independent with a torsion bar. Abarth has also fitted a larger anti-roll bar together with front springs that are 20% harder than those of a standard suspension system.

The scorpion stings again! This baby 'Evo' is Fiat's hotter Punto hatchback. Powered by a 170bhp Multiair 1.4 turbo petrol engine, it has some 'go' to match it's racy looks.

“We are hoping to build on our successes from previous years and maintain our 100% finish record,” said Puteri. “It is going to be exciting with the driver line-up that we have, there are some vast skills, some raw talent and a lot of passion in the team. We have a competitive car, and we are incredibly enthusiastic about the team's performance on race day,” she added.
