Designed in Europe, in collaboration with Kia’s Korean design studio, the body blends sharp horizontal feature lines with softer sculpted surfaces; the Stonic’s ‘Targa’style roof enables buyers to choose a two-tone paint finish, inspired by the design of the 2013 Kia Provo concept. It will be available in Europe with up to 20 two-tone colour combinations, with a choice of up to five distinctive colours for the roof.

The S3 sedan - which is also available in Sportback form - is a handsome car, with a sporty single-frame grill with matt grey inlays contrasting against the black paint. The lower air inlets have slightly more pronounced lines and a RS-styled honeycomb grill, giving the new S3 a meaner stance. While the black exterior is certainly safe, perhaps a more impactful colour for the test car would have been nice - Misano Red maybe?

We went up north to sample the turbocharged Mustang in its natural habitat, and here’s what we’ve found (yieehaaw)…


The ultra-low inertia, twin-scroll turbochargers fitted to the new M840T engine spools up more rapidly than previous designs, delivering reduced turbo lag and quicker throttle response. The annual Singapore Motorshow returns with a host of new models - we highlight some here!


The stance of the car, particularly from the rear three-quarter panel to the wheel arch, was carefully refined with a slightly wider track. The characteristic front engine-bay vents of the 275 GTB are an evident styling cue, as is the adoption of the triple louvres in the three-quarter panel in place of the F12berlinetta’s B-post quarterlights. However, the louvres on the rear bumper, together with the milled aluminium fuel filler cap, instead got its inspiration from the special competition-developed 275 GTB (chassis number 06885) that won the GT category in the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hour race; that particular race car won third place overall. Its yellow paint scheme is also a tribute to that 275 GTB, echoing its Ecurie Francorchamps team colour.

This latest one-off, built on the chassis of the F12berlinetta, is named the 'SP 275 rw'


Which got me asking myself: What other car could I buy with that money? Coming out with an extensive list of classic, sports, executive sedan and even JDM heroes, I could easily buy up to fifteen different cars. But if I decided to be practical in land-scarce Singapore, it would only boil down to three: A McLaren 650S, Range Rover Sport V6 and Ford Mustang Convertible EcoBoost. Not forgetting a Subaru Impreza WRX STI as well for, you know, track day duties…Oh no. I’ve just wasted your precious time going into my fantastically detailed fantasy. Please accept my apologies. The last hurrah, we sample one of the most legendary (and expensive) car ever to ply our roads


The wreck was transported to NTCE Barcelona in May 2014 and the eight-strong restoration team began work, using their own time at evenings and weekends. They searched all over Europe for parts, asking Nissan dealers to search their warehouses for old stock; some components were bought used and also restored. Juan added, “We wanted the car to be accurate in every way, and were lucky to get the very old drawings and service manuals from NTCE. We followed all the fine adjustments to get the exact Paris-Dakar race set-up.”
