Audi's A1 premium subcompact is now exclusively available as a five-door Sportback. Launched on ice at The Rink this evening, the new car is longer and offers more space, while striking a good balance of sporty and modern styling. This is ironically achieved by borrowing design cues from the Ur-Quattro and Quattro Sport from the '80s, just like the Q2 did as well.

With 430 hp at 7,000 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 4,000 rpm, 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 290 km/h. This, combined with the dramatic jump in raw power, raises the Cup’s power to weight from 355 hp / tonne (Cup 380) to 407 hp / tonne.
