In the latest 2023 Impact Report, SGP announced a commendable 20.7% reduction in emissions from the 2022 baseline within a five-month reporting period, with total emissions amounting to 1880.80t (CO2e). This feat excludes freight, logistics, and travel by Formula 1 and its teams. Energy is the primary source of emissions for the event. Direct emissions from fuel combustion, known as Scope 1, accounted for 46.56% of total emissions, representing a significant 40.97% decrease from the previous year. This reduction was primarily driven by substituting diesel with low-carbon alternatives for power generators and other energy management initiatives. In 2023, SGP powered select generators in the Circuit Park with biodiesel, including Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), and increased the use of B100 biodiesel. The plan is to extend the use of green fuels across all generators by 2028, potentially reducing energy emissions by up to 52%.

After a long two-year hiatus parked on the sidelines, the Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix is finally back in action!


The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the cancellation of the two previous Singapore Grand Prix, but finally after a long hiatus, the Formula One circus is back on our shores! Depending on which side of the fence you’re on, you either love the fact the race is back or dread the fact that you won’t be able to drive into some parts of town. The Singapore Grand Prix festivities will be held over the last weekend of September, starting on the Friday of 30 September and concluding on Sunday, 2 October. Similar to previous years, the roads around Marina Bay and Padang will begin to close in order to facilitate the race circuit. These closures will begin from 12:01 am on Wednesday, 28 September for the organisers and support crews to begin setting up the necessary infrastructure, and will last for 7 days. All roads will be fully reopened by 530 am on Tuesday, 4 October. To ease peak hour traffic, some roads will be temporarily opened during the morning and evening rush hours. Since the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix in 2008, the SingTel Grid Girls have been a star attraction of the race, vying for top honour and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hold the Singapore Formula One and Singapore GP flags at the Singapore Grand Prix. This year, the public can choose their favourite via SMS and online voting to select the top three SingTel Grid Girls. The Singapore Factor, a series of webisodes hosted by Paul Foster, will put the girls’ knowledge of the Lion City to the test in a trio of uniquely Singaporean challenges.
