The GR010 Hybrid #7 of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José María López bounced back from a practice accident on Thursday to take victory after a hard-fought 239 laps at the home of endurance racing in the United States.

After a tense race-long battle at the front, World Champions and 2022 Le Mans winners Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa also clinched a perfect result for Toyoto Gazoo Racing by finishing second in the #8 GR010 Hybrid, with a gap of just 2.168 seconds.

Relentless consistency, flawless team operations and strong tyre management combined as Toyota Gazoo Racing overcame the challenge of new Hypercar rivals from Cadillac, Ferrari and Porsche. Toyota managed to lap all competitors twice, earning the team’s 40th WEC victory.

Toyota Gazoo Racing dominated the opening round of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), securing a 1-2 victory in the 1000 Miles of Sebring in the face of strong Hypercar competition.

Formula One hasn’t turned a wheel in anger at the Nuburgring’s Nordschleife since 1976, but now, it’s back with a bang. That’s because Mercedes-AMG has just claimed the Green Hell lap record with its One hypercar, with a 6min 35.183sec lap around the 20.8km circuit.

That’s 8 seconds faster than the previous record for road-legal cars, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR (a GT2 RS with aero and handling mods by Manthey Racing), and 13 seconds faster than the previous production car record holder, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

Peugeot is the first mainstream car manufacturer to join the series after a sweeping revamp of the technical regulations, and made its competition return this weekend at the 6 Hours of Monza, the 4th round in the 6-race 2022 WEC season. Its weapon of choice? The new 9X8 Hypercar. Here’s a video of its very first lap in action:

It was initially hoped that the 9X8 could make its live debut at the 2022 Le Mans 24h, but the newly-formed Team Peugeot TotalEnergies elected to skip that and instead focus on further testing to ensure the car’s race-readiness. This included a 15,000km test session and a marathon 36-hour endurance run to put the crew and their processes through their paces before wading into battle.

Vanda Electrics has engaged Williams Advanced Engineering, the technology and engineering services division of the Williams Group — which also includes Williams Martini Racing — as its technical partner to build the Dendrobium concept and assist in future project development. The division specialises in race-bred aerodynamics, composites, batteries and electric drivetrains. Marking the latest step in Vanda Electrics’ global strategy to revolutionise zero emissions vehicles, the Dendrobium follows on from a commercial vehicle (Ant Truck) and e-scooter (Motochimp). Further Dendrobium details will be revealed in the coming months.

The all-electric, zero-emission two-seater Dendrobium concept hyper car will make its global debut at this March's Geneva Motor Show

Built around a stiff structural monocoque using carbon fibre, titanium and Kevlar, it claims to be the only supercar to also use graphene, a material that is made up of a layer of pure carbon atoms that are arranged in a honeycomb structure. The result is a light, flexible and strong element, and the GTA Spano has quite a bit of it.

Launched in Singapore on the 14th of June 2013 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, the Agera S is the most powerful production car to grace Singaporean streets. Equipped with Koenigsegg’s 5litre twin turbocharged V8 that pushes out 1030 bhp, the car is not only the most powerful, but, thanks to its lightweight shell and huge power output, the fastest vehicle on local roads as well. Although the 0-100 km/h time is a pretty brisk 2.9 seconds, its 0-200 km/h time is even more impressive. Unlike lesser vehicles that accelerate a lot less slowly beyond the 100 km/h mark, the Agera S continues accelerating at a more or less even pace to 200 km/h, completing the sprint in just 7.8 seconds.

What better way to celebrate the company’s 50th and the F1’s 20th birthdays than by unleashing a new all-conquering hypercar on the world? With McLaren’s vast Formula One experience and technology at its disposal, the P1 certainly has a shot at besting its chief rivals, the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. It may not be the fastest in a straight line (the P1 gives away about 50 bhp and 2 sec to 300 km/h to the Ferrari), but then again, McLaren have said all along that their goal was to make the fastest road car round a circuit, not just a straight line.

The stats, though, really do make for quite some startling reading. The 6.3-litre V12 is a development of the unit from the F12 Berlinetta, but massaged to produce 790 bhp at a screaming 9000 rpm. Coupled with Ferrari's HY-KERS (HYbrid-Kinetic Energy Recovery System), the LaFerrari manages a grand total of 950 bhp and 970 Nm of torque, eclipsing the McLaren by about 50 bhp, and murdering the Porsche's 785 bhp. As a result, 0-100 km/h is done and dusted in less than 3 sec, 0-200 in less than 7 and 0-300 in 15 sec. The mighty Bugatti Veyron SS, with around 200 bhp more, can only manage those benchmarks in 2.5, 6.7 and 14.6 sec respectively.
