strong demand. The Padang Grandstand enjoys close proximity to the F1 Village, Hawker Village, and
the main Padang Stage, which will host mega concerts by headlining artistes BIGBANG (Friday), The Killers (Saturday) and Rihanna (Sunday). Headliner Justin Bieber and special guest act Owl City will round off the race weekend festivities on the same stage at The Closing Concert on Monday. The 2013 SingTel Grid Girls in The Singapore Factor

Eight fresh-faced ladies aged 18 to 26, have been chosen as this year’s SingTel Grid Girl finalists. Since the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix in 2008, the SingTel Grid Girls have been a star attraction of the race, vying for top honour and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hold the Singapore Formula One and Singapore GP flags at the Singapore Grand Prix.

This year, the public can choose their favourite via SMS and online voting to select the top three SingTel Grid Girls. The Singapore Factor, a series of webisodes hosted by Paul Foster, will put the girls’ knowledge of the Lion City to the test in a trio of uniquely Singaporean challenges. The top three SingTel Grid Girls will be crowned before thousands of Singaporeans at the Thursday Pit Lane Experience on 19 September 2013.

With the last 2011 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix crowned 'Best Sport Event of the Year (International)' at the Singapore Sports Awards, this year's race promises even more.

Interested participants will need to be 18 and above as of 1 January 2012, physically fit, fluent in written and spoken English, commit to all scheduled training sessions and available to participate in all four days of the race (20 to 23 September). Successful candidates for the 150 available positions will be notified by 25 April 2012.

The 24th Race Of Champions will be held on the weekend of December 3-4, 2011 at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.

The JK Racing Asia Series consists of 18 races on six weekends in the 2011 season. On three occasions the JK Racing Asia Series will support Formula One Grand Prix, in Malaysia, Singapore and the newly built circuit in India. Two weekends will be held during the Asian Festival of Speed (AFOS) in Malaysia and Indonesia, with one weekend held in Guangdong during the Hong Kong Autosport Challenge (HKAC).

Biggest Field In History For Porsche Carrera Cup Asia

The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia is set for a record-breaking ninth season with an unprecedented 28 drivers signed for the region’s most prestigious GT championship.

The last time that a Red Bull Racing showcar performed in Singapore was back in February 2008 as a special item in that year’s Chingay Parade. It was the first time that the Singapore public had experienced the thunderous engine note of a F1 car, months before the inaugural Singapore night race took place in Marina Bay.

But even then, it was a mere sneak peek as the F1 car segment lasted barely five minutes before the Chingay Parade proper. This time round, the Red Bull Speed Street events will be fully fledged standalone showcar events lasting about an hour each, in which the public can expect manoeuvres such as short sprints, burnouts, engine breaks and donuts, which one won’t get to see often in actual F1 races.

This will mark the first time that Red Bull is organising a F1 showcar event in Malaysia as the blue and silver Red Bull was previously unavailable for sale in the country. The showcar event in Malaysia will take place along the entire stretch of Jalan Bukit Bintang starting from the Pavillion Mall to the Jalan Pudu junction, while the Singapore event will stretch from the Orchard Link junction to the Buyong Road intersection near the Istana.

The Austrian energy drink company, which is fast gaining in popularity amongst F1 aficionados thanks to the double championship winning feat of Red Bull Racing in 2010, is expecting crowds upwards of 100,000 spectators to line the 1km stretches along both shopping streets. To ensure that the safety of the audience is not compromised, safety measures and precautions will be in place in accordance with Red Bull Racing’s safety team.

A series of pre-event activations and tie-ups with retailers and malls in both countries can also be expected in the lead up to the events. Red Bull is also working closely with Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) to organise the event in Singapore.

Red Bull Racing's F1 Showcar To Race Down Singapore And Malaysia

Red Bull Speed Street events in April featuring former F1 driver David Coulthard will mark the first time that Orchard Road and Jalan Bukit Bintang will be closed for a motor sports event.

There's also a further discount if one purchases tickets in bulk, with at least four tickets reserved in a single booking. This special scheme offers savings of up to 10 percent for four tickets. Those who book eight or more enjoy a bigger discount of up to 16 percent off. The Group Booking Special is limited to the the first 40 percent of the grandstand seats only.

For this year's race entertainment line-up, American rock band Linkin Park will be belting out the tunes on race day, 25 September 2011 at the Padang main stage. Mr. Michael Roche, Executive Director, Singapore GP Pte Ltd, said, “Our announcement of Linkin Park is just the start of another stellar line-up of artistes for 2011.” Tickets will be available for sale online via the Singapore GP website, ticketing hotline as well as appointed travel agents.
