Designated as a performance liftback sedan, the Korean model actually became a worthy opponent to some more well-known German cars. Think something something S5, M5 and E43 . Even with impressive performance figures and practicality, sales of the Stinger were lacklustre worldwide. Competitive pricing by others meant the Stinger never got the spotlight it deserved, and the fact it has a “Kia” badge on the front didn’t help either.

The International MotorXpo Hong Kong (IMXHK) was an action-packed weekend of exciting activities for automotive enthusiasts of all ages.


I will openly admit to being pretty nonchalant when the opportunity to share a test-drive of the EQE 350+ with Sheldon was presented. Having read and watched multiple reviews of the EQS, I wasn’t exactly thrilled to partake in an EQ-product review. You know that saying about how one should NOT judge a book by its sibling cover? Mmmm hmmm… The day arrived when Sheldon showed up at my driveway in the EQE 350+. I couldn’t help but pull a Jonathan-impersonation, with the first words out of my mouth being, “it looks like a fish. Good thing it’s not silver, or it’d be a silverfish!”, accompanied by an pseudo-evil creepy-leery smirk, the type that one would be highly tempted to slap 73 different kinds of stupid out of. Sheldon groaned. Then we proceeded to the photoshoot. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ AMG Line is the tri-point star brand’s answer to mid-range luxury. Unique to Singapore’s market though, it pretty much sits on its own. The Tesla Model S, its natural albeit less-luxurious rival, is not available here, and its nearest price-competitor, the Audi e-tron GT is a lower-slung two-door coupe. So, by some weird twist of fate, the EQE 350+ kinda sorta finds itself going up against its big-brother EQS in Singapore. Die Außenseite There’s no mistaking it. The EQE 350+ is big. B-I-G-G. Its nearly 5-metre length takes up a normal parking spot lengthwise, and then some. Parked next to other sedans and wagons at an open carpark, its bright white roofline could clearly be seen from a distance, since it towers around 1.5-metres above ground level. The curvy and flowing lines of the bodywork further accentuate this perception of ‘bigness.’

Now now... stay with me here. I’m NOT for one second suggesting that the Sienta Hybrid is an enthusiast-vehicle. FAR from it. But there’s more to it than meets the eye. Read on, and it will become clearer. Moving seven people around in a cost-effective way is what the Sienta Hybrid is best known for. Pretty sure there have been more than a few occasions when a private-hire vehicle was booked, and a Sienta turned up – for good reason. In this segment, the Sienta Hybrid’s closest competitor is the also newly-launched Honda Freed. Both mini-MPVs feature seven seats in a compact monocoque form-factor, but the officially-imported Freed has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC(-kicked-in-yo!) engine without hybridisation, leaving the Sienta Hybrid pretty much in a class of its own.

Abarth, for some backstory, is the in-house tuning arm and performance division of Fiat. BeyonCa is exciting news for Singapore, as the new EV brand is founded by one of our own. BeyonCa’s founder is Singaporean Soh Weiming, an auto industry stalwart who built his reputation turning around car companies in China. At the age of 30, he brought Mercedes-Benz into China. He later joined Volkswagen China, spending 16 years with the German auto manufacturer. Mr Soh is concurrently the CEO of Renault China. Its executive team comprises a team of premium car industry veterans, as well as technology experts from consumer electronics and Internet companies. The company has set up an office in Singapore with plans for a local R&D hub in future and has the backing of China’s Dongfeng Group and other international investors. Already in the works in their proposed first model, the new BeyonCa GT Opus 1. It’s built from the ground up as an “out of this world” premium EV experience, and BeyonCa is confident it can stand toe to toe with other current generation high-end EVs already on the market.

Premium smart electric vehicle (EV) maker BeyonCa has recently announced its global debut, launching with the all-new Gran Turismo Opus 1.


Škoda is expanding its RS family to include another EV model. It’s (creatively) dubbed the Enyaq iV RS, and just like its coupe sibling, the Czech carmaker has opted for a dual motor all-wheel drive setup with a total power output of 220 kW (299 PS) and 460 Nm of instant torque. Interestingly enough, this makes both RS versions of the Enyaq iV family the most powerful models currently in Škoda's lineup.

“Electrikhana” is the latest installment of the viral Gymkhana video series, and the first to use an EV.


The relevant dictionary definition of ‘Spectre’, as applied in context to Rolls-Royce, is “a ghost.” Fitting, since Rollers past have been named after other-worldly entities such as Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Spirit, Seraph and Shadow. However, one cannot help but to think of the other definition, “something widely feared as a possible unpleasant or dangerous occurrence”, which could also be apropos given the current global geopolitical situation in late-2022. One then has to wonder if Rolls-Royce has a morbidly-ironic sense of humor when they named their latest car, or if it is just mere coincidence. Someone who wasn’t thinking of the latter definition, surely, was Charles Rolls, whose name forms one-half of Rolls-Royce. In 1900, Charles acquired The Columbia Electric Carriage, and the (possible) futurist in him foresaw electric vehicles (EVs) as clean, noiseless alternatives to the internal combustion engine. 120 years later, his prophecy has been fulfilled by Rolls-Royce’s first-ever EV, the Spectre.

After a long two-year hiatus parked on the sidelines, the Formula One (F1) Singapore Grand Prix is finally back in action!


The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the cancellation of the two previous Singapore Grand Prix, but finally after a long hiatus, the Formula One circus is back on our shores! Depending on which side of the fence you’re on, you either love the fact the race is back or dread the fact that you won’t be able to drive into some parts of town. The Singapore Grand Prix festivities will be held over the last weekend of September, starting on the Friday of 30 September and concluding on Sunday, 2 October. Similar to previous years, the roads around Marina Bay and Padang will begin to close in order to facilitate the race circuit. These closures will begin from 12:01 am on Wednesday, 28 September for the organisers and support crews to begin setting up the necessary infrastructure, and will last for 7 days. All roads will be fully reopened by 530 am on Tuesday, 4 October. To ease peak hour traffic, some roads will be temporarily opened during the morning and evening rush hours. The Singapore Grand Prix is finally back in action, but with the race comes a number of expected road closures.


Still quick in this day and age Despite being a model that has existed since the early 2000s, the R8 has remained competitive against its rivals. The mid-engine sports car can catapult itself from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, accelerating until it reaches a top speed of 329 km/h. At the heart of the new R8 is the same familiar naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 FSI engine, known for its incomparable sound, lightning-fast response, and immense accelerating power. In the R8 V10 performance, the engine delivers 570 bhp and 550 Nm of healthy torque, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.
