Yet, the surprise is that it might not be a bad thing. The Subaru Forester e-Boxer 2.0i-S Eyesight Hybrid as the car tested here is called in full makes all of 150hp and 194Nm of torque. Quite a long way off the heady days when the mighty 2.0XT made up to 240hp less than a decade ago. The downside of the XT however, was its woeful fuel efficiency as it came with a four-speed automatic and needed a heavy weight engine oil and had to be fed high octane petrol. Add all-wheel drive into the mix and you’ve got a recipe for a proper guzzler. These days, when fuel prices being what they are, the Forester needs to work smarter, not harder to stay relevant in the market. To this end, Subaru has done exactly that. Now with a new seventh-generation under its belt the new 7-Series, which debuted in Singapore earlier this week, fuses controversial styling with a hearty smorgasbord of tech gadgets to offer customers an elevated next-generation luxury experience. The model has taken design cues from other existing BMW luxury models, including the X7 and i7. According to the Bavarian automaker, this design language will continue to develop with future iterations, providing more distinction between these high-end models and other more “affordable” BMW models. Whether you love or hate the new design of the new BMW 7 Series, it is definitely an imposing design choice by the designers. Striking features include the new twin circular headlights, with a split design, and a gigantic BMW kidney grille, both signature BMW design elements. Adaptive LED Headlights come as standard, with BMW’s Selective Beam assistant and custom light effects when unlocking and locking the car. To give the lights a “shimmering” effect, individual LEDs are integrated with crystals from Swarovski, arranged in L-shapes. Like the front end, the rear also features slim LED light units.

Back in the '80s, during F1's original turbo era, Porsche was an engine supplier, providing McLaren Racing with a 1.5-litre twin-turbo V6. But before putting it into the race car, it had to be tested, and for that, McLaren and Porsche stuck it unmodified into a 930 Turbo test mule. This white prototype - largely unmodified save for 17-inch RUF wheels, a front bumper from the 930 Flatnose, and a taller whaletail engine cover with extra vents - was kept secret by McLaren until it surfaced in the middle of last decade.

The second-generation BRZ is due here soon. The 2.4-litre boxer engine in the new BRZ will push out 232 bhp and 250Nm of torque.

The 50kW DC chargers can fully charge a car in 30 minutes. Over the next few years, SP will introduce more high-powered DC charging points of up to 350kW. Other than SP’s, there are six other DC chargers in Singapore. SP’s new additions will be a game-changer in improving the charging turnaround time for EV drivers in Singapore. EV drivers can also enjoy at least 50 per cent cost savings compared to typical Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles for every kilometre travelled.
