Ironically, this new facelift actually makes for quite a compelling upgrade over its predecessor, and I feel the Arteon should receive more love in that regard.

Volkswagen Singapore has just announced a new facelift update to the Arteon. The new model features updated styling, better creature comforts, and a new engine variant. Better still, one does not have to wait for an upcoming launch date, as the Arteon is available for purchase starting from today and will come in two trim levels: Elegance and R-Line.

Poised as the executive saloon of the Volkswagen lineup, the Arteon has received an update for the Singapore market.

At first glance, the Arteon appears to be a replacement for the Passat CC, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that. However, unlike the Passat which was positioned as a compact executive model (fun fact — ‘CC’ was an acronym for Comfort Coupe!), the Arteon is positioned as a luxury grand tourer and is Volkswagen’s current flagship model.

Volkswagen’s avant-garde gran turismo is revealed in Singapore

Combining avant-garde design with a high level of versatility was the key objective for designers and developers of the Arteon. At the same time, this resulted in an interior architecture which is spacious — with ample head and leg room at all seats. One key design elements of the Arteon include its completely new front end, in which the LED headlights and daytime running lights merge with the chrome-plated crossbars of the radiator grille and the bonnet. The car’s shoulder section is another defining feature of its design.
