McRae was the youngest and also the first British driver to win the World Rally Championship Drivers’ Title in 1995, making him a household name. Four years later, McRae joined Ford, who also unveiled a new car for the ’99 season — the Focus WRC. Tragically, McRae died in a helicopter accident in 2007.

The VLN endurance race provided the opportunity for Hyundai Motor to intensively test the i30 N car that feature technical specifications very close to the actual production car. Say hello to the speediest Singaporean on four wheels. After making waves racing in Europe and New Zealand, 22-year old Andrew Tang is flying the nation’s flag high in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.


Like the standard car, the GT-R NISMO’s front end features a fresh face with a dramatic new bumper. However on this model, it is made entirely from carbon fibre to reduce weight. Then to help cool the car’s high-output engine, the dark chrome V-motion grille has been enlarged to collect more air; the redesign has been carefully shaped to improve airflow around the vehicle and generate a high level of downforce, while at the same time directing air around the wheels to improve the aerodynamics. The GT-R NISMO generates more downforce than any other Nissan production car to date, which results in exceptional high-speed stability.Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 delivering 592 bhp; the engine features a pair of high-flow, large diameter turbochargers used in GT3 competition, and power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch paddleshift gearbox.

Being Japanese also meant long-term reliability was the last issue to be concerned about.
