Volvo’s answer to Audi’s S-line and BMW's M Sport turns the nondescript V40 into an able performer with the looks to boot.


The V40 was unveiled last year as an in-between successor of both the S40 and V50, but for some reason we only received the jacked-up Cross Country version. Now though, local dealer Wearnes Automotive has followed up on its success and launched the V40 R-Design, a lowered, sportier version of the car.

It’s part-way through its models’ life cycles, and Volvo updates not one, but four of its models, as well as introduces the V40 R-Design to Singapore.


The Volvo S60 T6 R-Design is an excellent package. Handsome, sporty, well-built and really quick to boot. It may not have started out wanting to crush the competition, but if Volvo can give us more feedback and a meatier steering feel, they might just be able to.
