The car we’re testing here is a face-lifted RS5. Mostly the same as the outgoing model, the front of the car sports the most distinctive tweaks. To give the updated car a fresher face, Audi has opted for perpendicular diamond-shaped black side grilles that house the fog lamps. Along with a minor redesign on the headlamp LEDs, these side intakes make the face a bit more aggressive.

Efficient, quick and usable. The new Audi RS5 is pretty much the dream car of most high-flying executives in Singapore. We just wished it was a tad bit more special.


Set your eyes on the S5 and the same sleek lines from the A5 will put a smile on your face. A friend of ours is looking at purchasing an A5 and his words were “It was love at first sight”. The S5 though, has chunkier bumpers and larger side skirts with a matte black trimming than contrasts well with the white paint on our test car.

Yum, yum - the handsome and muscular new S5 is quick, practical and well deserving of a high five!


The largest changes to the new S-Class occur under the bonnet, with new engines debuting in two models — a new 4.0-litre V8 in the S560L, and an AMG 4.0-litre biturbo V8 in the S63. Despite offering 469 hp and 700 Nm of torque, the S560L’s engine is among the most economical V8 petrol engines in the world, consuming about 10 percent less fuel than its predecessor. This is achieved with cylinder deactivation technology and the CAMTRONIC valve-lift adjustment system, which deactivates four cylinders under partial load.

It really puts things into perspective as to what sort of feat engineers can achieve in modern engines.

The Audi S5 got a refresh recently, we take one out on a date and remember why this is one of our favorite Audis.


To ensure the tyre was appropriate for European roads and climate, Falken used its engineering team based in Frankfurt to develop the specification. In addition to testing on European public roads and private proving grounds, engineers also gained feedback from Falken’s racing drivers at the Nürburgring who tested the tyres. The resulting “NUR-Spec” design incorporates a more warp resistant casing and additional nylon-reinforced cover ply to increase high-speed stability. This construction is complemented by a rounder tyre shoulder, optimising pressure deployment on the tread area.

Just when the svelt and sexy A5 was beginning to look dated amongst its competitiors, Audi reveals the updated and face-lifted model.


Main changes are to the looks. Aside from the beveled upper corners of the grille, the new wedge-shaped headlights are the main elements that lend it a fresher face. Though I'm not sure if it suits the menacing nature of the car?

The Audi RS5 Coupé has gone under the knife to update its looks. No hike in power or anything else much though...


Based on the C-SportLounge concept, the DS5 is designed with smooth-flowing lines, a sleek profile and muscular wheel arches that wrap around large alloy wheels. There is an over sized air intake, a large chrome-finished grille housing the chevrons and a new LED light signature. A distinguishing feature, the DS5 boasts of a chrome-finished “sabre” inserts stretching from the top of each head lamp to the windscreen.

S is for sporty and S is also for speed, so in order for the Sportback to be worthy of Audi's S badge, the car has to offer even more in order to attract potential buyers who want that extra more in performance. And that is exactly what the S5 Sportback has - a supercharged V6 for more power, Audi's S styling for sportier aestheticism as well as a sportier chassis set up for better handling. But more on the S5's engine first. As mentioned earlier, the S5 Sportback's three litre supercharged V6 is the exact same one sourced from the S4 and rightfully so for the S5 Sportback is essentially a S4 based vehicle if automotive taxonomy is anything to go by. With force induction, the S5's V6 churns out 333bhp worth of power, which is a huge difference as compared to the base 2.0 TFSI's 211bhp and 68bhp more than the 3.2 FSI model. As for torque, the S5 Sportback dishes out a whooping 440Nm as compared to the 3.2 FSI's 330Nm, how's that for sporty and speed?
