The factory-fitted RNS 510 radio navigation system uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to provide turn-by-turn route guidance. It features full touchscreen control on its 6.5-inch widescreen display. For added convenience, voice control can be used for certain functions. The device identifies short voice commands like “start route guidance” and immediately begins to calculate the route.

The RNS 510 radio navigation system is now a standard issue on 10 Volkswagen models.

Compared to the first generation Touareg, the new Touareg has its dimensions increased in both length and width as well as a lower centre of gravity. And that's not all, for the new Touareg despite its increase in size is now a lighter machine for better power to weight ratio (208 kg lighter) due to targeted body modifications, material selection and a lighter weight power train. And even though the new Touareg is now a lighter machine, its body has a five percent greater torsional rigidity (24,800 Nm/Â°), making it the leader in its class.

ABT Open-house 2010 at Autovox

Autovox welcomed friends and media to the first ABT Sportsline open-house. Set in a casual backdrop of their showroom, guests were treated to ABT tuned demo cars to drive and a yummy buffet to boot

Without the weight burden of a four-wheel drive train, a lower centre of gravity and a track wider than the Golf R’s, the Scirocco R handles corners with aplomb and speed, with only the slightest hint of torque steer on uneven road surfaces, this in my opinion is a trait displayed by well balanced high performance rides. Like the Golf R, the Scirocco R is also equipped with the standard chassis control system that allows a driver to adjust the damper, steering weight and throttle response in three different mode settings, as usual I had it in Sports on the test route we often patronise. In Sports mode, the Scirocco R handles ably with the suspension well modulated to tight corners and bumpy surfaces. Like the Golf R, speed retardation is also excellent, with the very same 345mm front and 310mm rear brakes working up a treat with great immediacy.

Volkswagen Centre Singapore Expanded

More than 1,300 Volkswagen customers packed the newly expanded Volkswagen Centre Singapore in celebration of its official opening on the evening of 16 July 2010.

As with all hatchbacks, the Golf is easy to manage and park, mummies who drive will be happy to know that. It also looks fairly non-descript in an HDB carpark so it won't attract any unwanted attention. Side mirrors feature useful parking lamps to illuminate dark spaces.
