As the 83rd 24 Hours of Le Mans revs up for the big race day on June 13th, TAG Heuer has announced that it will be the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch Partner of Nissan NISMO.


The new Porsche 919 Hybrid is a comprehensive evolution of last season’s successful car, which marked the return of Porsche to the top class of the WEC in 2014. It features the same innovative drivetrain concept consisting of a 2-litre V4 turbocharged petrol engine, supplemented by an electric motor powering the front wheels, and two energy recovery systems.

When BMW first introduced the F10 M5, many complained about the relative lack of exhaust noise as compared to its V10-powered predecessor. Sure, it may give one less aural pleasure, but the performance gains more than made up for it. Of course, the car is nothing more than a concept at this point in time. That said, if the Provo ever entered production, how much of the radical design would actually make it into the final product? The car in its current form is certainly quite striking though, thanks to the contrasting roof color, one-piece headlight and taillight housings, and oversized wheel arches paired with radical wheels.

I've always been fond of Peugeot's car designs. The 308, RCZ and the new 508 GT in particular are my personal favorites. I can't say the same for the 408 though. Somehow, the proportions look a bit wrong to me. That said, I could be the only one with that view, because almost everywhere I took the 408, people were staring - no kidding - this regular sedan was turning heads!

Straight-up, you'll still be faced with the boxy looks. No swoopy rooflines and eye-pleasing curves - just the good 'ole 3 box design. Like the Range Rover we reviewed earlier, this fine example has been face-lifted with some snazzy LED daytime running lights and more LED business in the rear. Not quite our cup of tea for a vehicle which you can drive through a flood, but driving along a posh shopping belt means plenty of attention — may it be flooded or not.

The 79th 24 Heures du Mans, or widely known as the 24 hours of Le Mans has been one of the most drama filled races in recent memory. Audi's McNish and Rockenfeller were involved in two separate crashes that reduced their Audi R18 TDI cars to pieces. McNish went out in the first hour after coming into contact with a slower Ferrari, skidding across the gravel trap and slamming hard into the barriers, showering journalists and track crew with fragments of the car.

Frankfurt To Host ROC 2011

The 24th Race Of Champions will be held on the weekend of December 3-4, 2011 at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.


The chassis and aerodynamics package contains a lot of know-how from the R8, the R10 TDI and the R15 TDI, whereas the fitting of identically sized front and rear wheels is new to an Audi Le Mans sports car. This configuration allows a more balanced weight distribution. The R18’s headlights, which are the first to completely consist of LEDs with optimised amount of light, are a technical highlight. The new generation of headlights was developed in close cooperation between Audi Sport and the Technical Development (TE) division of AUDI AG, and using it at Le Mans will further prepare it for future use in production vehicles. Audi’s light designers had the chance to make their mark on the development as well: The LEDs of the daytime light form the shape of a “1” which is intended to inspire associations with Audi’s historic brand logo.
