Look at the car, it’s powerful, outstanding and disruptive.” In fact Nissan NISMO arrives with key technological innovations, with a front-engined, front wheel drive car that is powered by a V6 3-litre twin turbo petrol engine and a kinetic energy recovery system.

TAG Heuer Partners Nissan At The 24 Hours of Le Mans

As the 83rd 24 Hours of Le Mans revs up for the big race day on June 13th, TAG Heuer has announced that it will be the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch Partner of Nissan NISMO.


It features a 5.2-litre V10 engine with 610 hp, reaches a top speed of over 325 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The power generated by the ten-cylinder is delivered to the road via the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) and an all-wheel drive that also features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Three different driving modes, spanning from road to race track, can be selected using a drive select switch in the steering wheel. The system is called ANIMA –  Adaptive  Network  Intelligent Management - and impacts the engine, transmission, all-wheel drive and the ESC handling system as well as other dynamic systems.

Some of the interesting facts and figures shared by him include, how at the end of 2010, the Rolls-Royce brand saw a whooping 400% growth here in Singapore. The sustainable growth was largely due to the effort put in by automobile businessman Karsono Kwee’s Eurokars Group, which is investing seriously in expansion programs. The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ growth did not end just there, as it saw a healthy 600% growth in China. Surprisingly though, the European market could not catch up with the Asian market – at the end of 2010, it only saw a 200% growth. Although uncertain and “hard to predict”, Mr Muller-Otvos reckons that China will overtake North America as their main consumer, by as early as the end of 2012. He also stated that the latest Ghost model would help drive that new growth.

First Saab 9-4X Rolls Off Production Line

The first Saab 9-4X crossover to be commercially produced has now rolled off the assembly line at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.


The races will commence in April this year, the venues being Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, China, Singapore and India. JK Racing Asia Series will consist of 18 races on six weekends in the 2011 season. On three occasions the JK Racing Asia Series will support Formula One Grand Prix, in Malaysia, Singapore and the newly built circuit in India. The remaining three weekends will be part of the Asian Festival Of Speed in Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia. JK Racing Asia Series will feature an ultra-modern standard specification race car. The Formula JK Tyre Pacific car is made of carbon-fibre Kevlar, which has been proven to be of the highest safety standards. The 140bhp, 1.2litre BMW engine provides a maximum engine speed of 9,250rpm with a top speed of 230km/h. The race car will run on JK tyres. The series is in sync with JK Tyre’s philosophy of identifying and developing young racing talents to become future world champions. The JK Racing Asia Series is for the most talented drivers rather than just the most financially healthy to succeed. It is for this reason that both the car and the training programme have been devised so that little if any advantage can be obtained by extra investment. Viewers in over 100 countries will receive great TV coverage of the JK Racing Asia Series where 185 programmes with 10,850 minutes of coverage are broadcast to a total potential viewership of over 612 million.

The power delivery in sport mode can be a little sudden. It accelerates normally, followed by a surge when the turbo kicks in. We do love the explosive acceleration but in heavy traffic, it's a bit hard to drive smoothly unless you leave it in Normal, or Eco mode which has the least throttle responsiveness, but delivers the smoothest drive.
