M4 CS is another special edition from BMW M GmbH.


Power comes courtesy of a 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 engine derived from the outgoing M5, but revised to feature newly developed turbochargers, ultra-efficient charge air cooling and increased fuel injection pressure, increasing power to 600 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, up from the F10-chassis M5’s 560 bhp and 678 Nm. The century sprint takes just 3.4 seconds, all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250kmh. With the optional M Driver’s Package, however, the fun continues till the speedometer touches 305kmh.

To this end, the springs, dampers and anti-roll bars all get firmer tuning. The Active M Differential on the final drive works with its own control unit to further improve traction, allowing the driver to accelerate even more dynamically out of tight corners, for example. The steering with M-specific Servotronic function has more direct mapping while the M Dynamic Mode of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system is focused even more intently on delivering sporty handling.

Mimicking the looks of Spengler's racing car, this special-edition model is available exclusively in Frozen Black metallic, while the carbon flaps and gurney, various dark chrome elements, matt black wheels and sections of the race car's livery also betray its close links with the triumphant BMW M3 DTM.

On the interior, the BMW M3 Coupé Competition Edition adds black extended Novillo leather with palladium silver accents and stitching on front seats, headrests, door trim panels and handles, centre console, and centre armrest, along with an Alcantara-covered steering wheel and a BMW M3 Chequered Flag logo inlay featured on the door sills. The carbon trim on the dashboard and centre console further complete the interior upgrades.
