Jetex Sports Exhaust Lands In Singapore

The popular sports exhaust brand from Sweden and the UK has appointed JD Performance as the distributor, and they in turn have not wasted time by appointing dealers island wide.


With cleaner horizontal lines on the outside, the Eos also gets trim updates on the inside. This new car comes with “Matt Chrome” detailing and the seats have been stitched with “cool leather”, a material that promises to heat up less than standard leather.

The new Volkswagen Eos has been launched with a new look.


Both power plants are mated to an eight speed automatic transmission that is designed for towing and offroad use. The Touareg Hybrid reaches a top speed of 240 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. A 1.7-kWh nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack now sits in the spare tyre well and packs enough energy to drive the Touareg up to two kilometres. The battery is kept at an optimum operating temperature with two fans and a duct that leads to the interior ventilation system.

Volkswagen will be returning to the FIA World Rally Championship from 2013.


On 14 and 15 May 2011, ladies will get to drive Singapore's best-selling coupe, the Volkswagen Scirocco on the very same stretch of tarmac that hosts the annual Formula One street race. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest woman on each day. Off the track, visitors can enjoy a manicure, pedicure or head and neck massage, plus a free flow of refreshments. Volkswagen's Scirocco Ladies’ Day promises driving thrills for the ladies.


A seven-speed DSG gearbox with paddle shifters is fitted as standard. The new car also comes fitted with the same electronic transverse differential lock (XDS) you find on a Golf GTI. It electronically mimics a limited slip differential to reduce the tendency to under steer and deliver the power to the road more efficiently.

Exterior wise, the new Megane CC (I shall call it MCC from now on) looks less angular than its predecessor — it seems Renault’s designers decided to make it curvier (and more feminine too) this time around, probably to match Peugeot’s 308CC. The face has more prominence now thanks largely to the new swept back headlamps and detailed bumper (is it smiling at me?). Then, the rear looks simply beautiful, mainly due to the darkened tail lamps and the fact that its overhang is not that long to make it look, err, tilted like a duck’s rear? Oh, and those alloys are simply beautiful on the MCC — think of it as wearing the right shoe to match the dress. Ahh… you French are so fashionable.

On the move, the driving characteristic of the MiTo isn’t what it seems to be. You may opine initially that the ride sways more towards the soft side, but when you set its DNA system from “Neutral” to “Dynamic”, you can feel the MiTo stiffen up and provide a reasonable amount of grip that is both sharp and rather precise. Pity the factory-fitted Bridgestone Turanza ER300 tyres that don’t seem to cooperate as they tend to screech and struggle for grip when pushed hard, killing your enthusiasm when shooting in hard into a corner. When it comes to the brakes, the anchors on the MiTo — standard with ABS and EBD - are assuring and offers respectable stopping power with no feeling of brake fade which is useful at hauling all that 1,145kg to a complete halt.

KESSY offers the driver the highest level of convenience as the transmitter need not necessarily be held in the hand to enter and start the car. As soon as a driver enters a radius of approximately 1.5 metres around the vehicle, the transmitter is identified by the proximity sensors in the door handles and by a radio impulse sensor in the key housing. Touching the door handles or the logo on the boot lid automatically unlocks the vehicle. The release of the steering lock and the ignition of the engine are carried out by pressing the start-stop button on the steering column. After leaving the vehicle, the driver can lock the vehicle by pressing the integrated lock buttons on the door handles.
