Electrikhana 2 - A Thrilling Farewell to Gymkhana Legend Ken Block

BY Sean Loo

One final gymkhana video was under wraps until now, helmed by the late genius Ken Block. This is Electrikhana 2.

The motorsport world suffered a tremendous loss last year with the passing of Ken Block, the daredevil driver who redefined the art of the gymkhana.

It turns out there was one final video that was under wraps until now, and we've been gifted one last adrenaline-fueled treat from the master himself: Electrikhana 2.

Recorded in the vibrant streets of Mexico City in November 2022, just before his untimely passing, Block transformed the city into his personal racetrack.

The Audi S1 ‘Hoonitron’ is back in action – the dual-motor, 671bhp electric beast, crafted specifically for the first Electrikhana.

Electrikhana 2 is a poignant tribute to Block's genius. The video starts with intimate behind-the-scenes footage, then propels viewers into a whirlwind tour of Mexico City.

If you haven’t cried by this point, the end credits are particularly moving – make sure to have some tissues handy.

It's hard to believe it's been over a decade since Block's first Gymkhana video in 2008. Starting with mayhem on an empty airfield, Block’s series escalated in audacity and spectacle, culminating in twelve main videos and several spin-offs.

Many of us vividly remember his electrifying debut on Top Gear, where he left James May awestruck.

The torch of daring driving is being carried forward by Block's daughter, Lia. She's already tackled the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in her dad’s 1,400bhp Hoonipigasus in 2023.

As we bid farewell to Ken Block with Electrikhana 2, his spirit lives on, both through his breathtaking videos and his daughter’s rising career. Rest easy, king of Gymkhana.
