Singapore Formula One 2023 Road closures

Headed to the town area during the Formula One race weekend? Here's some useful road information on the various road closures in effect.

Headed to the Singapore Grand Prix this year, or just wanted to pop into town to do some weekend shopping?

As with all previous years, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced a series of road closures to prepare for the race weekend. Our race is, after all, a street circuit.

The road closures will take place over 7 days, beginning at 12:01am on 13 September 2023. All roads will return to become fully accessible by 5:30am on 19 September 2023.

For those travelling to the Marina Centre area, fret not. There will still be a single lane along Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway or Temasek Boulevard (except for buses and vehicles donning W, X, and Y plates) between the hours of 12:00am to 1:00pm on 16 and 17 September 2023.

Taxis and motorcycles will be able to utilise the single-lane access road at all times, except during the hours when the races on track are ongoing.

Helpful traffic wardens will be deployed on-site on all race days, to facilitate the flow of traffic and provide assistance to any motorists. Temporary directional signs will also be erected in the nearby vicinity.

For parking, Suntec City, Millenia Walk, and Marina Square will remain open to the public.

Of course, to avoid the hassle, the best way to the track would be to take public transport. Additionally, MRT service hours will be extended on race days, and trains will continue to run until:

- 12:45am on 15 September 2023
- 12:30am on 16 September 2023
- 12:45am on 17 September 2023

The operating hours for selected connecting bus services serving MRT stations will also be extended to match the last train services, so rest assured you’ll have a comfortable ride home.
