Bridgestone’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

BY Marcus Lim

For the second consecutive year, Bridgestone Singapore is teaming up with the Breast Cancer Foundation in the fight against breast cancer

Following the success of last year’s Pink Valve Cap Donation Drive Campaign, Bridgestone Tyre Sales Singapore Pte Ltd (BSTSG) has again teamed up with the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) in raising funds for the fight against breast cancer.

“At BSTSG, we care about all members of our community regardless of race, religion or gender. The Pink Valve Cap Donation Drive Campaign is inspired by our Bridgestone Group Global CSR Initiative, “Our Way To Serve”, where under its ‘People’ pillar we employ our strengths to support our communities and enhance the way people live, learn and work,” said Mr Michael Tan, Managing Director of Bridgestone Tyres Sales Singapore Pte Ltd.

Held from 1st August to 31st October 2017, 10,000 packs of four pink tyre valve caps will be made available at 35 participating Bridgestone dealers’ and business partners’ stores, with each pack available for purchase at $4. Donation boxes will also be placed alongside the shelves throughout the campaign period.

To further raise funds and boost awareness of breast cancer, this year’s sale of tyre valve caps will be accompanied by a series of monthly events from August to October.

Beginning with the Bridgestone 8th Golf Escapade 2017 in August, support will be garnered from Bridgestone’s fleet customers, tyre dealers and business partners. Following that, the Bridgestone Charity Dinner will be hosted by BSTSG in September — its first-ever charity dinner packed with fundraising programmes. Finally, the series culminates in the Breast Cancer Awareness month of October with participation in BCF’s Pink Ribbon Walk.

All sales proceeds and donations collected throughout the campaign will go towards supporting BCF’s various outreach and support programmes and services, and strengthen awareness.
