Photos of the 2016 Honda Civic has shown that the entirely redesigned car won’t repeat the mistakes of the past. The last time around, its facelift exercise received flak for being 'too safe' and 'unimaginative', which should explain why its popularity went downhill; locally, introduction of the new Toyota Corolla Altis and Volkswagen's pricing strategy for their Jetta were the final nail(s) in the Civic's coffin.

From these photos, courtesy of civicx.com, you could see how Honda has taken an all-new approach towards their exterior design. Undeniably, it looks upmarket thanks to the svelte sports back approach ala Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. It's still too early to say whether Asia's market will get this body shell, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.

The car was caught undisguised on Fifth Avenue in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Honda will reveal details of the new Civic next week in Los Angeles, and then Detroit.
