    • The interior features similar touches, like Vienna’ leather seats, aluminium sill plates and stainless steel pedals. The flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel is shared with the one in the Golf R and is adorned with R badges, as are the headrests of the front sports seats.
    • Unlike similar offerings from some other companies, the Tiguan does at least have a bit more muscle to go with the beefed-up looks, courtesy of the Golf GTI’s 210bhp TSI engine. Coupled with the 7-spd DSG gearbox, the SUV can hit 100km/h in a brisk 7.3sec.
  • To be fair though, the Audi TT Ultra Quattro Concept isn’t all max power and unhinged lunacy. In fact, the thinking behind it is fairly inspired – using Audi’s racing experience to shed massive amounts of weight: the car weighs just 1,111kg, 300 less than the TTS on which it’s based.

Like a Superleggera, but German. The Audi Audi TT Ultra Quattro Concept makes Lamborghini's (and indeed everyone else's) efforts at a lightweight special seem completely inadequate.

    • Exotic materials abound all over the car. Not only does it have a carbonfibre bonnet, roof and bootlid, even parts of the body in white are made from the stuff – the rear end, central tunnel and B pillars. With the floor and hinges made of magnesium, about 100kg has been shaved from the car’s body.
    • In an effort to further improve the ride and handling, a lot of focus has also been placed on reducing unsprung mass. Or course, there are your obligatory carbon-ceramic brakes, but then there are also other innovations like fiberglass-reinforced plastic springs, as well as special, 20kg-lighter wheels, with aluminium spokes bolted to a carbonfibre rim.
  • Called the Jetta Special Edition, the car gets a full bodykit for the front, rear and sides, 18-inch Preston alloy rims, chrome tailpipes, tinted windows and aluminium pedals. Mechanically it’s identical to the Jetta and Jetta Sport, with a choice of 122 or 160 bhp 1.4 TSI engines, mated to the familiar 7-speed DSG gearbox. Underneath the radically styled carbonfibre body, lie the chassis and the running gear of the Aventador.
    • Only 3 Venenos will be made, and to add to that exclusivity, each one would be painted in the colours of the Italian Flag. That’s not all. Lamborghini has tried their very best to design a road going Le Mans racer.
    • Being a Lamborghini, not only does it have to look the part, it has to go like stink too! Power comes from the Aventador's 6.5-litre V12, tuned to develop 740 bhp. To put the power to the ground, the engine is coupled to a 7 speed automated manual transmission and permanent all-wheel-drive. With such power and excellent traction, the Veneno will hit 100 km/h from a standstill in under 3 seconds and continue propelling the driver and his passenger to a mind bending 355 km/h.

    • Inside, the large swathe of body-coloured trim remains on the dashboard, steering wheel and doors. The interior also sees the addition of paddleshifts for the multi-function steering wheel, an integrated infotainment and navigation touchscreen, keyless entry and start-up, dual-zone climate control, Park Distance Control with front and rear proximity sensors, and finally a trio of dash gauges for turbo boost pressure, oil temperature and lap times (a VW Sport Chrono Package, if you will).
  • To create a contrast to the exterior paint, stainless steel-look trim runs all around the SUV's lower body section. Eco-Offroading in VW’s new SUV Concept

The stereotypical 4x4 has a long roof line coupled with a very short front overhang, as does the CrossBlue Concept.
    • With better a better intake of air comes better performance ability. The car’s powerplant is likely to be a 2.0 liter TDI, which produces 190 front wheel bhps. The diesel powerplant is paired up with batteries and two electric motors. Upon request, there is a 54 bhp electric motor to support the front wheels and a another 114 bhp electric motor to work the rear wheels, essentially turning it into a 4x4. In total, this car would have a combined 305 bhp and 700Nm of torque. The car’s century sprint time is 7.2 seconds. That isn’t exactly fast, but bearing in mind this is a Hybrid SUV, that figure is actually quite impressive. Fuel economy is good too. In hybrid mode, the car can achieve 14km for every litre of fuel. Estimated combined cycle fuel consumption is 2.1 liters per 100 km. The car can also be used as a pure diesel or a pure EV.
    • Inside the cockpit, there is ample space for maximum comfort. The car is very spacious, and has seating for six. In the back, air vents are integrated in the roof liner to ensure every passenger is cool. There is no lack of screens; two Ipad Minis are embedded in the backs of the headrests so that passengers in the middle row can be kept amused. A big screen in the centre of the dashboard allows for easy viewing of the satnav. The interior is dripping with cream leather, with bits of piano black accents and wood trim to liven up the interior.
  • The 1.2 TSI engine, mated to a 7-speed DSG, produces 105 bhp. This particular combination has already proven its worth in several other Volkswagen models. This turbocharged direct-injectionpetrol powerplant accelerates the CrossPolo to 100km/h in only 9.9 seconds, while top speed is rated at 188km/h. At the same time, the car achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 5.5L/100km, equivalent to 128g/km of CO2. The CrossPolo meets the limits of the Euro 5 emissions standard. Price is set at $126,300, with COE.

    • The side profile of the CrossPolo also shows very tough qualities. Here, sporty black wheelarch extensions and coordinated body sills set the styling. The latter continue visually into the lower door area. In off-road driving and in the jungle of metropolitan parking spaces, these rugged plastic guards protect the car from damage. Fitting the character of the CrossPolo are the 5-spoke 17-inch 'Budapest' rims wrapped in 215/40 R-17 rubbers.
    • Another unmistakable characteristic of the CrossPolo: the silver anodised roof rails. They are certainly not just decorative; they can be used to mount roof boxes nd carrier systems with a weight of up to 75 kilograms. Colour coordinated with the roof railings are door mirrors that are painted in silver.

The resulting “NUR-Spec” design incorporates a more warp resistant casing and additional nylon-reinforced cover ply to increase high-speed stability. This construction is complemented by a rounder tyre shoulder, optimising pressure deployment on the tread area.
    • In contrast to the previous FK452, dry handling has been improved by 25 percent whilst handling on wet surfaces is enhanced by 30 percent, delivering useful gains in control for lane changes and higher speed cornering. A combination of tread pattern and compound changes has led to an eight percent reduction over the FK452 in braking distances on wet surfaces. To break the water film and deflect the water more effectively than conventional tread patterns, Falken has implemented three central tread grooves and staggered sipes integrated into the first tread bar on the tyre shoulder. In line with its other new products such as the ZE914, Falken has increased the silica proportion. The strain characteristics of silica offer a larger contact area and better grip for the same tyre diameter, resulting in stronger interaction with the road surface.
    • To achieve the lower noise levels now expected by consumers, even those running low profile tyres, Falken introduced phase-shifted tread bars. The rounder shoulder contributes to the significantly lower rolling and pass-by noise. The new Azenis FK453 range will comprise 62 different sizes (25 to 50 series), making it applicable for a significant number of cars.

    • The Touran looks like a enlarged Polo/Golf as a result. Still, you'll find that it's tall stance gives you a commanding view out of the big windows around the cabin. Inside, we find the same flexible seating arrangement. The front passenger seat flips down flat, followed by the three seats in the middle that fold, roll and can be completely removed. They’re heavy, so it would be a better idea to leave them in the car instead of home. There are three metal bars that prop the seats up against the front row.
    • The rear seats will only seat two, at a pinch. Kids would be fine there, or adults on a short hop across town. If you don't need them, they stow neatly into the floor for a generous boot that is enough for almost everyday cargo duty. With all seats up though, it'll probably just be enough for a weekend grocery run, or a medium-sized pooch.
