Suzuki has recently revealed its latest creation, the all-new Swift, and it’s a sight to behold. It sports a chic piano-black grille, complemented by striking L-shaped lamps that flow into its rounded shoulder lines. These lines are further accentuated by flared fenders, giving the Swift an interesting stance. One can't help but be charmed by its floating roof design, a clever play of visuals that adds to its appeal. The rear has three-dimensional combination lamps, giving way to a wider bumper.

A good starting point is the driving position. This is of course highly subjective as the driver’s size and body type makes a big difference. For this writer’s 1.8-metre frame at least, the front seats are perfectly supportive. More crucially perhaps is how the car’s most crucial touchpoints – the steering wheel, gear lever, as well as the pedals – fall readily to hand and feet. Like putting on a tailored jacket, the driver immediately feels comfortable, familiar, and ready to go. This imparts a sense of confidence to explore the limits of the car. The positioning of the steering wheel and gear lever is underscored by also being nicely weighted for feedback that feels sweet and positive.

On the inside, the biggest change is the new part-leather, part-suede seats that should help grip you better when cornering. Furthermore the seats, together with the steering wheel and gearlever, also feature contrasting silver stitching, while chrome trim on the dashboard and doors help liven up the otherwise black interior.
