Visitors were treated to a range of informative displays, family-friendly activities, and a multitude of mouth-watering Porsche cars both new and old. History buffs and car enthusiasts could trace the evolution of the iconic 911 model from its genesis in the 356, via 5 generations of classic 911 and right up to the current '991' generation, while motorsports and racing enthusiasts were enthralled by the actual 1998 Le Mans 24H race-winning Porsche 911 GT1, as well as a replica of the Porsche 919 Hybrid that won the 2015 race. In addition, Earl Bamber, New Zealand racing driver and co-winner of this year's Le Mans race, was also on hand to sign autographs and answer questions from fans of Porsche Racing.

The event also heralded the debut of the 911 GT3 RS, Targa 4S GTS, and two limited-edition SG50-themed cars.


Adapted from its production sibling, the 911 GT3 R features the distinctive double-bubble roof, and the wheelbase which has been lengthened by 8.3 centimetres compared to the previous generation. This ensures a more balanced weight distribution and more predictable handling particularly in fast corners, in comparison to the previous GT3 R.

Based on the new 911 GT3 RS production sports car, Porsche has designed a customer sport race car for GT3 category racing around the world: the 911 GT3 R.


Powering the new 911 GT3 RSR is a particularly efficient six-cylinder boxer engine with a four-litre capacity. With a mandatory air-restrictor, it generates 460 hp (338 kW) and drives the 310 millimetre wide rear wheels. The diameter of the front wheels has increased by 30 mm to now measure 680 millimetres. The Porsche sequential six-speed gearbox is operated via paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0's outstanding driving dynamics come from numerous, meticulously coordinated details. In addition to using suspension components typically encountered in motor racing, weight reduction is also of supreme importance. Equipped as standard with lightweight components such as light but strong carbon fiber sport bucket seats, carbon fiber front fenders and luggage compartment lid, and weight-optimized carpets, the two-seater's ready-for-action weight is just 2,998 lbs (1,360 kg) with a full fuel tank. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0's power-to-weight ratio is 5.99 lbs/hp (368 hp/tonne).
