With 430 hp at 7,000 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 4,000 rpm, 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 290 km/h. Helping to harness all that power is a comprehensive range of new aero elements - a new ultra-lightweight front clam with unique carbon fibre ducts has wider radiator apertures and a new mesh pattern grille to provide a more combative aspect and to allow for a new front splitter and air curtain mechanism to reduce drag. The lightweight rear clam panel supports the larger, straight motorsport wing to increase downforce without impacting the car’s overall drag coefficient. The new design front and rear clam panels are 6.8 kg lighter than those on any other Exige. Lotus’ expertise in lightweight design has played its part in reducing the overall dry weight by 12 kg to 1,059 kg, with the vehicle down to 1,056 kg in its lightest configuration. This, combined with the dramatic jump in raw power, raises the Cup’s power to weight from 355 hp / tonne (Cup 380) to 407 hp / tonne.

Despite Singapore having one of the lowest fatality rates in the world of 15.8 deaths per 100,000 motor vehicles, Bosch believes that there is room for improvement, especially when compared to other highly developed cities. During an interview with Klaus Landhaeusser, General Manager of Automotive Sales for Bosch in Southeast Asia, he highlighted the comparatively lower fatality rates in European countries — 4.8 in the United Kingdom, and 7.9 in Germany — and attributed them to regulations that mandated safety systems such as the antilock braking system (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

I’d dare say the combination of a strong power output and sublime handling almost makes this A5 quite S5-like! I enjoyed driving it more than I did the 3.0-litre S4.

The latest luxury benchmark lands in Singapore

From the front, differentiating the Turbo from its lesser brethren are the LED main headlights of the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), with double-row front light modules. Viewed from the side, one would notice widened wheel arches with painted wheel arch trims, housing the unmistakable 21-inch Turbo wheels fitted as standard. First introduced in the Audi Q7 in 2015, the 3D sound technology has now evolved to include the rear compartment of the car. Two full-range loudspeakers in the A-pillars, and two more in the headlining above the rear seats provide the spatial dimension of height and intensify the surround sound into the perfect stereophonic experience. Using an algorithm developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute, the stereo or 5.1-channel recordings are used to calculate the information for the third dimension, and process it for the four 3D loudspeakers.

Finally, the long-awaited GT Sport, the latest iteration of the PS Gran Tourismo series has an official release date.

Power comes courtesy of a 4.4-litre bi-turbo V8 engine derived from the outgoing M5, but revised to feature newly developed turbochargers, ultra-efficient charge air cooling and increased fuel injection pressure, increasing power to 600 bhp and 750 Nm of torque, up from the F10-chassis M5’s 560 bhp and 678 Nm. The century sprint takes just 3.4 seconds, all the way to an electronically limited top speed of 250kmh. With the optional M Driver’s Package, however, the fun continues till the speedometer touches 305kmh.
