Look back at the 1999 Megane. It goes against the usual boxy exterior others in the segment were busying themselves with; personally speaking though, it still looks relevant today. We went up north to sample the turbocharged Mustang in its natural habitat, and here’s what we’ve found (yieehaaw)…


Weighing in only at 1,575 kg, the naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine produces 740 bhp and 690 Nm of torque; 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds and top speed rated at 350 km/h. Transmission is provided by Lamborghini’s lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system, providing robotized gear shifts in up to 50 milliseconds.

Coming out with an extensive list of classic, sports, executive sedan and even JDM heroes, I could easily buy up to fifteen different cars. But if I decided to be practical in land-scarce Singapore, it would only boil down to three: A McLaren 650S, Range Rover Sport V6 and Ford Mustang Convertible EcoBoost. Not forgetting a Subaru Impreza WRX STI as well for, you know, track day duties…Oh no. I’ve just wasted your precious time going into my fantastically detailed fantasy. Please accept my apologies.
