The A1 e-tron contains technology that Audi’s development engineers are using to study the mobility requirements for such a future-oriented concept. The technological basis includes an electric motor with a maximum output of 75 kW that is powered by a lithium-ion battery. The battery features a 12 kWh capacity and can be completely charged in 30 minutes (quick charge), or in less than three hours (standard charge). It offers a range of 50 kilometres. To prevent drivers from being stranded by an empty battery, the A1 e-tron also comes equipped with a combustion engine, which can charge the battery as needed. The one-disc rotary engine (254 cc) is located under the trunk floor; it provides 15 kW of output intended solely to charge the battery, rather than to directly power the wheels.

The car offers an initial impression of what the BMW M3 DTM will look like when it lines up at the start of the 2012 season. However, the vehicle was not the only star of the evening at BMW Welt: BMW Motorsport also presented the first two drivers to be confirmed as wearing the company colours in the DTM as of next season - Andy Priaulx (GB) and Augusto Farfus (BR).

BMW Asia presents the special limited-edition BMW Individual 7 Series Composition inspired by Steinway & Sons at ‘Driving Harmony’, a BMW concert featuring famed international pianist Caio Pagano.


The car comes in plain black as standard, with basalt black metallic also available as an option. The Cabrio hood is principally of black cloth. The 17th BMW Art Car made its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore this week, showcased at the Munich Automobiles Showroom and Service Centre, the world’s first dedicated BMW M dealer. Based on the BMW M3 GT2, the 17th BMW Art Car is created by world renowned pop artist, Jeff Koons. As part of his creative process, Jeff Koons collected images of race cars, related graphics, vibrant colors, speed and explosions. The resulting artwork of bright colors conceived by Koons is evocative of power, motion and bursting energy. Its silver interior along with the powerful exterior design, the Art Car will impart a dynamic appearance even when it’s standing still. “These race cars are like life, they are powerful and there is a lot of energy,” said Jeff Koons. “You can participate with it, add to it and let yourself transcend with its energy. There is a lot of power under that hood and I want to let my ideas transcend with the car — it’s really to connect with that power”.

One of BMW's Art Car makes an appearance at the world's only M dedicated showroom.


The unique A-shaped body allows Plantronics to incorporate three microphones. The call button is located at the top, and the voice recognition button is in the middle. Even though these buttons are flush with the overall design, they are fairly easy to press, and are far enough apart that you won't mistake one for the other. This headset is slightly thick, but it is light enough not to be noticed. A small selection of ear gels and a clear plastic ear-loop provides a comfortable fit for most ears.
