Premiering in September 2017 at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, the refreshed BMW i3 and new BMW i3s enable drivers to enjoy locally emission-free mobility with the added benefit of instantaneous power delivery. Both models draw their energy from a 33 kWh lithium-ion high-voltage battery (an increase from the original i3’s 22 kWh battery), offering a range of up to 300 km. Should a longer range be required, a 38 bhp range extender petrol engine can also be ordered as an option for both cars, extending range by an additional 150 km.

Yours truly took the Huracan All-Wheel Drive on a quick spin around the Marina Bay area, and it must be said this 610 bhp/560 Nm 5.2-litre V10 sports car impresses with its smooth and predictable power delivery, lovely exhaust note and addictive engine roar. Build quality is faultless to say the least, and the cockpit is one of the best place to be in, for something costing just below a million dollars, without options.

Vanda Electrics has engaged Williams Advanced Engineering, the technology and engineering services division of the Williams Group — which also includes Williams Martini Racing — as its technical partner to build the Dendrobium concept and assist in future project development. The division specialises in race-bred aerodynamics, composites, batteries and electric drivetrains. Marking the latest step in Vanda Electrics’ global strategy to revolutionise zero emissions vehicles, the Dendrobium follows on from a commercial vehicle (Ant Truck) and e-scooter (Motochimp).
