Based on the SLS, the GT S is lighter and has room in the boot for golf bags and luggage. It doesn't have gullwings though and has been designed and priced to go head-to-head with the Porsche 911, instead of the more exotic kind like its predecessor did. But the 911 seats four (well, sort of), while the GT S is a two-seater. Oh well, we'll know more when (and if) we get to drive one.

The steering feels much weightier, with feedback adequately delivered from the front two tyres. But like any other cars, there are some issues still — the steering has this strange habit of artificially correcting itself and on top of that, torque steer is present. The latter something you do not expect from a car in this class. Brakes have been given the much needed improvement — the previous model has this weird habit of lacking feel when worked hard, but with this new one, it provides more assuring bite which is useful at slowing down the car.

In the end, the Belgian Audi team prevailed with a concentrated performance of its drivers and solid teamwork - Audi Sport Team WRT with Christopher Mies/Nico Müller/Edward Sandström/Laurens Vanthoor was 40 seconds faster than the BMW Team Marc VDS.
