I Bought One: Lotus Elise 1.8 (M)

About six months ago, we decided to swap our Golf GTI for this sexy little number. Here's a quick intro to the car we got.


In fact, partner Liqui Moly Team Engstler will be running two cars at the eighth round of the Touringcar Racer International Series (TCR) at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (A). This will be the first competitive test for the car. “The newly created TCR category provides a promising platform for customer racing — on a national and international level. With exciting races, production-based technology and reasonable costs, it offers a new outlook for private racing teams,” said Volkswagen Motorsport Director Jost Capito.

This TCR-ready (Touringcar Racer International Series) Golf concept is one mean wide-bodied hatchback on steroids.


The 2016 Camaro coupe retains the overall shape of the 1960s cars, but loses some of the hard edges of the current version. The slightly reduced size and broader use of aluminium make it more than 90 kgs lighter than the current car, which General Motors promise will result in more nimble, responsive handling.

Dr Andy Palmer: The Racing CEO

Barely a year into this new appointment, Aston Martin's CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, is swapping his business suit for a race suit as he lines up alongside three fellow drivers to campaign a V8 Vantage GT4.


The new S$1.3 million circuit features a 545-metre long track with 11 turns, consisting of a combination of sweeping corners, a hairpin and a chicane near the end of the lap. The 8-metre wide track, currently the widest in Singapore, even has multiple overtaking points that makes for an amazingly fun and safe circuit.

RS 7 Completes A Lap… Without A Driver

At the DTM season finale, the Audi RS 7 piloted driving concept completed a lap on the Grand Prix track in Hockenheim at racing speed, without a driver.


This concept of front mid-engine and transmission in transaxle configuration makes for a beneficial weight distribution of 47 to 53 percent between the front and rear axle. In conjunction with the vehicle's low centre of gravity, this translates into extremely agile handling and permits high cornering speeds. With a power-to-weight ratio of 3.3 kg per hp, the Mercedes-AMG GT self-confidently lines up alongside the very best in its segment. The sports car also sets a new benchmark figure for fuel economy: fuel consumption of 10.8 km/L (combined).

The front bumper has been completely redesigned and features a larger air intake, additional air inlets ahead of the wheel arch and new LED daytime running lights. Other updates include the introduction of black headlamp bezels, special red Nismo trim at the base of the bumper, redesigned side sill and door mirror and special Nismo badging. If you're an avid Burnpavement.com reader, you might be aware that I am a fan of station wagons. In fact my own car is a wagon and I will readily replace it with another estate when the time comes. So yes, I might be a bit biased when it comes to reviewing one. But hear me out, because the RS6 is no ordinary wagon, and I'm quite sure you would be compelled to take a closer look, even if you're a 'anti-wagonist' - if there was such a thing.

What has plenty of space, loads of power, a lot of presence and the ability keep up with exotic cars double its price? You're staring at it. Audi's RS 6 is truly a wonderful piece of machinery.


Yet, the stupendous power of the Turbo S is jaw-droppingly massive. Like the C4, it is equipped with 4WD and inspires confidence even when you building us crazy speeds. Porsche's excellent 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox is the sole transmission available on the Turbo and Turbo S. You could use the flappy paddles to switch gears, but we left the gearbox to its own devices and focused on coming back to the pits in one piece.
