That said, body-roll is still obvious; it’s not the sort that throws you off, but the type that adds more sensation into your drive. Well, that is on paper. Factor in the almost 2-tonne kerb weight and you should be able to realize why it takes 9.5 seconds to get from standstill to 100km/h. Realistically speaking though, the 508 RXH feels brisk when moving off traffic light junctions; it won’t do the job as rapid as an A4 Avant (2.0 TFSI quattro), but it is not as breathless as you would expect as well. I took the car up for a day-trip to Melaka, and I must say it does the job of chomping mileage at high speeds rather respectably — notably, while it seems flat higher up the power band, the sweet spot lies within the mid-range.

The transmission, although shifting smoothly, somewhat has the tendency to shift up earlier than expected even in Sport mode. Thankfully BMW made paddle-shifters a standard fixture here, which allows you to manually pick your own gears. While at that, the car is willing to stretch all the way to its 7,000 rpm redline; however, it does feel flat past 5,000 rpm.

Owners to Take Delivery Of Their New McLaren 650S Supercars In April!

With deliveries as early as April this year, it is clear that Singapore is an important market for McLaren. Its latest 650S debuts here the same time it is showcased at the Geneva Motor Show.


Like the previous model the full-sized MPV will come in two variants - the EX and the EXV. The EX is the 'base' model, although it already comes with quite a list of features and seats the most number of people (eight vs. seven in the EXV). Available as standard on both models are Honda's new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink navigation and of course, the 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine with Earth Dreams technology. The unit pumps out a healthy 172bhp and 225Nm and will return a fuel consumption figure of 12.7km/L.

The Honda Odyssey loses its low-slung profile, but makes up for it with more space, more features and more bits of modern tech.

According to Hyundai, it has a combined cycle of 8.4 litres/100 km (or 11.9 km/L) compared to the previous 11.4 litres/100 km (or 8.8 km/L). Oh, even the CO2 emission has dropped from 209 g/km to 200 g/km now; we can hear Green Peace giving a sigh of relief…

Alpha Biofuels has signed a three-year agreement with The Westin Singapore to provide the upper upscale hotel with its exclusive Green Luxury biodiesel-powered limousine fleet, which consists of two Jaguar XJ sedans. What makes this project revolutionary is that the biodiesel will be obtained exclusively from recycling waste cooking oil generated by The Westin Singapore, thereby forming a self-sustaining 'waste-to-energy' loop.
