The vehicle concept is thus optimised to meet every requirement of a future-oriented, battery-electric model family. This latest addition to the Exige range packs the advanced chassis, suspension and powertrain set-up from its more powerful stablemate, the track focused Exige Cup 430, with a recalibrated engine producing 410 hp at 7,000 rpm and 420 Nm on tap from 3,000 rpm to 7,000 rpm. The high-performance 3.5-litre, supercharged and charge cooled V6 engine, combined with a dry weight of just 1,054 kg, delivers a class-leading power to weight ratio of 389 hp per tonne; this also makes the Exige Sport 410 the lightest V6 Exige ever.

Hence it is a lovely surprise to see a youthful model from Sweden appear here. In theory this is the product Volvo badly needed to reach out to the younger crowd, and at a time where the Germans are covering every segment they possibly could, the direction Volvo took is definitely the right one; although some might opine they’re a little late to the party.

Named after legendary F1 driver Ayrton Senna, the McLaren Senna is limited to only 500 units


With 430 hp at 7,000 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 4,000 rpm, 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 290 km/h. Helping to harness all that power is a comprehensive range of new aero elements - a new ultra-lightweight front clam with unique carbon fibre ducts has wider radiator apertures and a new mesh pattern grille to provide a more combative aspect and to allow for a new front splitter and air curtain mechanism to reduce drag. The lightweight rear clam panel supports the larger, straight motorsport wing to increase downforce without impacting the car’s overall drag coefficient. The new design front and rear clam panels are 6.8 kg lighter than those on any other Exige. Lotus’ expertise in lightweight design has played its part in reducing the overall dry weight by 12 kg to 1,059 kg, with the vehicle down to 1,056 kg in its lightest configuration. This, combined with the dramatic jump in raw power, raises the Cup’s power to weight from 355 hp / tonne (Cup 380) to 407 hp / tonne.

This full-production model is the most extreme Exige ever conceived by Lotus, offering 407 hp/tonne


Powered mainly by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, that on its own, pushes out a decent 181 bhp and 290 Nm of torque. But coupled with the huge battery that sits under the rear boot, the combined power output is a rather heady 252 bhp and a cumulative torque figure of 420 Nm. This enables the hybrid 3-Series to hit 100 km/h from standstill in 6.1 seconds and propels it to a 225 km/h top speed.

From the front, differentiating the Turbo from its lesser brethren are the LED main headlights of the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), with double-row front light modules. Viewed from the side, one would notice widened wheel arches with painted wheel arch trims, housing the unmistakable 21-inch Turbo wheels fitted as standard. ‘Premium Dynamism’ is what Nissan terms the Qashqai’s new look. At the front, the Qashqai gets an integrated new front bumper, featuring more of the car’s body colour and glossy black plastic. Nissan’s iconic ‘V-motion’ grille frames the new Nissan badge — with a traditional badge for the 1.2-litre variant, and a flat finish for the 2.0-litre variant in order to house the Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) system’s radar. On either side of the grille, new LED lamps with ‘boomerang’-style daytime running lights (DRL) run across the top of the headlamp assembly.
