How has development of the car, in terms of both aerodynamics and engine, have been for you this season?It is great. Definitely, we are a step forward here and that to me is very impressive. The Honda engine has improved a lot — its deployment is giving us an advantage.For the aerodynamics, we have given it a lot of work too, which is why, overall, I’m very happy.

During this one-day programme, we put the array of Porsches through braking, slalom, vehicle handling exercises, and an off-road experience.

We went (a little) mental in the upgraded Sepang track with a bevy of Porsches


Styling-wise, the E-class ditches the quad-headlamp look it’s sported for the last two decades, and instead now looks like a carbon copy of the current C- and S-Classes. Overall length and wheelbase have grown by 43mm and 65mm respectively for added legroom, while the front track is now 20mm wider for slightly keener handling. Three trim levels are available — Exclusive (with the traditional Mercedes radiator grille with the upright star on the bonnet), Avantgarde, and AMG Line (both of which have a sports grille with integrated Mercedes star).
