With 30 years of competitive experience, Sauber is one of the most renowned and traditional teams in Formula 1. The Swiss racing team is currently in a partnership with Alfa Romeo. Sauber will be responsible for planning and executing race operations during the Formula 1 season. With its new collaboration with Audi, the power unit will be developed at Audi’s Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg an der Donau, while Sauber will produce the Formula 1 car at its site in Hinwil (Switzerland). Development of the power unit, which consists of the MGU-K, battery, control systems and a V6 hybrid engine, is already in full swing at Audi’s racing facility.

Following the announcement of its entry into Formula 1 at the end of August, Audi has now confirmed its new partner in the sport.


The company was founded by Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Gaetano Ponzoni, who coined the name “Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera”. The Milan-based coachbuilding firm quickly established a name for itself and over the years has been responsible for some of the most breathtaking automotive designs ever, such as the Aston Martin DB5 and Lamborghini 350GT.

Peugeot is the first mainstream car manufacturer to join the series after a sweeping revamp of the technical regulations, and made its competition return this weekend at the 6 Hours of Monza, the 4th round in the 6-race 2022 WEC season. Its weapon of choice? The new 9X8 Hypercar. Here’s a video of its very first lap in action: It was initially hoped that the 9X8 could make its live debut at the 2022 Le Mans 24h, but the newly-formed Team Peugeot TotalEnergies elected to skip that and instead focus on further testing to ensure the car’s race-readiness. This included a 15,000km test session and a marathon 36-hour endurance run to put the crew and their processes through their paces before wading into battle.

With my curiosity seriously piqued, I headed to my two favourite B-roads at night, and this was when my eyebrows nearly joined the pole star (that’s the one in outer space, not the one from Sweden). Firstly, there is the Polestar 2’s seeming incomprehension of the concept of understeer. There were a couple of instances where I was pretty damn sure I’d overcooked my corner entry, but no, the car pretty much sailed into the bend once I lifted off the brakes - not even a moment’s hesitation waiting for the front tyres to regain their grip. Even with deliberately over-aggressive throttle application when exiting corners, the car settles into more of a four-wheel drift instead of washing out at the front end.

Moreover, even though it still sports a straight-6 turbo engine, the M340i is now available in Singapore only with all-wheel drive, or xDrive as BMW calls it. Cue moans and groans from hardcore BMW enthusiasts. Since the regular G20 has already been covered in a previous article, we’ll simply focus on what makes this an M Performance vehicle. The Important Bits The M340i features bulging intakes up front, which sets it apart from the regular 3er and makes that front-end look sharper and meaner. Don’t be deceived by those slim headlights though – they’re up there with the best that we‘ve tested.

The 50kW DC chargers can fully charge a car in 30 minutes. Over the next few years, SP will introduce more high-powered DC charging points of up to 350kW. Other than SP’s, there are six other DC chargers in Singapore. SP’s new additions will be a game-changer in improving the charging turnaround time for EV drivers in Singapore. EV drivers can also enjoy at least 50 per cent cost savings compared to typical Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles for every kilometre travelled. The 488 Pista Spider sets a new benchmark for Ferrari, for spider performance, made possible thanks to the adoption of the most powerful Ferrari V8 engine ever which was recently named Best Engine in the World for the third consecutive year at the 2018 International Engine of the Year awards. The 3,902 cc twin-turbo V8 unleashes 710 bhp @ 8,000 rpm/770 Nm @ 3,000 rpm and combines that power with increasing torque at all engine speeds for continuous and unending acceleration all the way to the redline. Standstill to 100 km/h takes 2.85 seconds, while 0-200 km/h needs only 8 seconds; maximum speed is rated at 340 km/h.

And majestic it truly was. A short 10 minutes drive from the resort, we — ok, the X3 — climbed up all the way to the Seruni Point lookout point. Yes, most of the stock photos of the famed Mount Bromo sunrise you find online were taken at this exact spot. And how can I forget? Standing at the highest lookout point, you could also catch the moon in all its glory along with the Milky Way — I kid you not — here. If I may, this has to be one of the glorious views I’ve ever experienced hence now I understand why Mount Bromo attract visitors by the droves.
