The MSS kicks off this Saturday with the qualifying sessions at 1.40 pm, while the program for race day begins at 8.45 am on Sunday.

The Malaysian Super Series (MSS) returns this weekend with the one-make Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli series makes its debut at the Sepang International Circuit.


After being grouped, we were first sent off to do a hot lap on the South Track in the Samoa Orange-hot Audi R8 GT. Because of its rarity - with only 333 units to be built - we were not allowed to drive it. With the track still wet from the rain, it was interesting to see what Daryl could do with 560 hp...

After the roaring racing action faded away at Sepang, it was time for a few to experience an exhilarating drive on a closed course.


The RS 3 Sportback differs from its S3 cousin with flared front fenders made from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP), prominent sill panels, exterior-mirror casings in matt aluminium look and a large roof spoiler. A high-gloss black diffuser insert and two elliptical exhaust tailpipes on the left accentuate the styling at the rear.

Audi Launches The RS 3 Sportback

At roughly 7.45pm, the MediaCorp Audi R8 LMS #2 was about to overtake in a corner. However, a contender failed to notice the car and hit it, causing the Audi to sustain a broken swivel mount which required the whole front left suspension to be replaced, causing them to finish in fifth place.

Last year, Frank Biela, Darryl O’Young and Marco Werner celebrated second place at the first run of the Audi R8 LMS in this race. All three drivers are part of the grid again this year, albeit in a different formation - the two former Audi factory drivers Biela and Werner will be supported by the Swiss Marcel Fässler who has won the Le Mans 24 Hours for Audi this year. The trio’s combined track record totals nine Le Mans successes. The second Audi R8 LMS will be driven by another former Le Mans winner, Seiji Ara. The Japanese will share the car with Darryl O’Young from HongKong and Alex Yoong. The Malaysian enjoys a particular bonus at his home round on account of his huge popularity as he is the only former Grand Prix racer in his country.

Two Audi R8 LMS cars will contest the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race (MMER) at Sepang this coming weekend


Into the race, the leading Weider HSC-010 and S Road Mola GTR opened up a big gap between the rest of the pack, with a gap that varied from lap to lap. The action however, was behind the leaders as two HSV-010's (Keihin #17 and Arta #8) battled for the final podium position. Andre Lotterer in the Petronas Tom'S SC430 was fighting for sixth place, only to be held back by the GT-R's straight line speeds.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is pleased to announce the official opening of its latest showroom in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.


The new Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tyre features an advanced full silica compound which reduces the friction between the tyre's rubber molecules and provides higher resistance to abrasion, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and a longer tread life. Additionally, the tyre is built with a hard base under the tread, which reduces deformation in the crown area and heat build-up. The tyre also features even pressure distribution that helps to reduce the rate of wear.

Two In A Row From Pole!

The Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday 10 April 2011 at the Sepang International Circuit saw Sebastian Vettel win his second race in a row ahead of Jenson Button and Nick Heidfeld.


This is the sixth-year, Scuderia Toro Rosso is taking part in the F1 World Championship. Buemi and his team mate Alguersuari are among two of the youngest drivers currently in F1. Both are graduates of the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme, which also produced current F1 driver world champion Sebastian Vettel.

The Red Bull Speed Street event marked the first time that a F1 car sped down Malaysia's main shopping strip.


The JK Racing Asia Series consists of 18 races on six weekends in the 2011 season. On three occasions the JK Racing Asia Series will support Formula One Grand Prix, in Malaysia, Singapore and the newly built circuit in India. Two weekends will be held during the Asian Festival of Speed (AFOS) in Malaysia and Indonesia, with one weekend held in Guangdong during the Hong Kong Autosport Challenge (HKAC).
