So there you have it, the 911 C4S Cabriolet retaining Porsche’s ethos still. As a cabriolet, it's simply complete. There’s nothing to fault this car, as everything is well thought out, engineered and put together with no compromises at all; till now, I am still highly impressed as to how Porsche can manage to sort out the entire chassis and make it a solid package - in more ways than one - just to cope with demanding drivers.

It will be the 30th car to wear the legendary RS badge, following such technology trendsetters as the 16-valve 1970 Escort RS1600, the turbocharged Sierra RS Cosworth of 1985 (oh, and remember its radical aerodynamics?), and the four-wheel-drive 1992 Escort RS Cosworth. The all-new Focus RS is also the first ever RS model that will be sold around the world and produced for all markets at Ford’s Saarlouis, Germany, manufacturing plant beginning late this year.

Out on the expressway, the Cashcow is surprisingly refined to drive. Nissan’s engineers seemed to have put in lots of effort at keeping the cabin quiet and as vibration-free as possible; at expressway legal cruising speeds, sounds from the engine compartment are hardly audible, you don’t get any transmission shift shocks and wind noise can only be heard past 120 km/h. Very well played, Nissan.

Adequate tread depth is important for safety in wet conditions as the tread grooves help to remove the water from the contact patch between the tyre and the road surface. As the tyre’s tread depth wears down, its ability to remove water from the road decreases meaning that grip levels are reduced and stopping distances are extended. In extreme circumstances when the tyre has insufficient tread depth to clear the water properly, increased water pressure causes the tyres to lift on top of the water surface and lose contact with the road surface. During this dangerous aquaplaning situation any input from the driver such as pressing the brake or turning the steering wheel has no effect on the vehicle, leaving it at an increased risk of being involved in an accident.
