Touch panels have been used on the D-shaped steering wheel as well as elsewhere, negating the need for buttons. You might notice that there are no side mirrors, that's due to the “EyeSight” system that relays video to a monitor on the dash, fed from its stereo cameras mounted high up on the door line.

While going green seems to be the main theme to this year's auto show, the lineup is still tantalising enough to make petrol heads drool.


With the help of this important, yet least known designer, most of the prolific cars from the 50s had input from this man. From Alfas to Ferraris this man was in the midst of it all. Yet the Spitfire was almost never built because of the collapse of the Triumph-Standard company. If not for the fact that the car was spotted by the new management under dust covers in the corner of the factory, the Spitfire would have been long forgotten.

It stops very well too, the 18-inch rims hide 280mm disc brakes in the front and 262mm in the rear. They stop this charging car with finesse and the brake pedal feels great to stomp on too, providing a firm feel. While we weren't mad enough to make the stability controls kick in, this also boiled down to the good grip that the tyres provided.
