A Night Of Citroen Innovation!

BY Krado Low

Citroen, together with Lush 99.5FM, threw a party filled with cutting edge creativity, innovation and style.

It all began as a series of Citroen-branded radio sound bites on Lush 99.5FM. The sound bites covered various topics which related Citroen’s innovations to progressions in other fields such as fashion, music and technology. The series culminated at a party on Thursday 26 May 2011 at the Citroen Pod.

The Citroen Pod was transformed into a club with DJ decks, a fashion runway and bar sponsored by Grey Goose, with the fabulous Citroen DS3 on display to add to the evening glamour. The Innovate! event saw Citroen customers, Lush listeners, movers and shakers from the fashion, music and design industries amongst the crowd.

With Lush DJs Young and Kelly hosting the party, guests were treated to Don Richmond performing “Turn Me On” from his latest album together with Alicia Pan and also had front seats to the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection of local designer Frederic Sai. Renown for breaking conformity with his designs, Frederic had his latest Pret-a-Porter range on the catwalk.

Resident DJ for the evening was Lush DJ Nomsta, who has worked with big-name artistes such as Chicago house legend Roy Davis Jr., dance-jazz maestros Zero dB and Australia’s top-ranking DJ Kid Kenobi, heated up the dance floor and hyped up the party mood as he spun through the night with the Lush Mix.

The main star of the evening was the chic Citroen DS3. Inaugurating Citroen’s DS line, it offers appealing and exclusive styling options, thanks to the extensive personalisation options available to the customers. With dynamic on-road performance, intelligent design, efficiency and a peace of mind, it's the car that Citroen chose to represent its innovation and creativity.

Guests enjoyed a hors d'oeuvres reception and Grey Goose L'orange Cosmopolitan, L'Poire Sparkling and Cape Fizz cocktails. To cap off the evening, everyone walked home with goodie bags sponsored by L’Oreal, Frederic Sai, Lush 99.5FM and Citroen.
