Maserati's Road Racer Shows Up

BY Krado Low

As part of its Asian tour, the hardest-core road-going Maserati makes its appearance in Singapore.

More power, less weight, race-inspired tweaks, combined with everyday driveability? While the standard GranTurismo looks fantastic, the MC (Maserati Corsa) Stradale, with its new visual additions such as the vented bonnet, redesigned rear bumber, new front splitter, side skirts and the front guard panels looks even more breathtaking in real life than on the screens.

The story begins with the stripped-down, carbon fibre bonanza cabin that exhumes an air of raciness the moment you settle down into the bucket seats and fasten the Sabelt four-point harness. While we weren't allowed to drive it as it was left-hand drive demo, we did have the opportunity to fire up that tweaked engine. While it sounded distinctively Maserati, the MC Stradale has a deeper burble while idling, building up to a raw ear-drum punishing snarl when the tach approaches the redline.

If you're interested in owning this tamed Italian racer, a limited number of units will be available from official dealer Hong Seh Motors in the middle of this year.
