OCBC Launches Corporate Karting Challenge Initiative

BY Krado Low

OCBC's encouraging us to don a suit of a different kind.

Everyone knows that you're serious when you turn up in a tailored suit. Now though, with OCBC launching their first Corporate Karting Challenge, it's time to leave the business suit at home and put on a racing suit.

With emphasis on the importance of balancing work and life, the event's main aim is to foster close collaboration and good decision-making skills between fellow colleagues. To be held at Kartright Speedway's technical 750m track, 12 teams of six drivers (four main drivers and two reserves) will compete in four-hour endurance races. Taking place over a series of four rounds, the top four teams of the each eliminating round will face each other in the Grand Final battle.

There's an entry fee of S$3,500 per team which includes the usage of karts, helmets, tyres, fuel and four race suits. There will be a pre-selection round, and a karting clinic session for the participants to pick up racing techniques. An organisation can enter any number of teams and registration will be open until the first 36 teams are confirmed. A draw will decide which round each team will be participating in. The challenge is set to kick off on 21 May 2011.
