Caltex Passion For Kids 2013

BY Keegan Gan

The ‘Caltex PAssion for Kids’ Programme 2013 provides students from less privileged backgrounds with an opportunity to gain knowledge and develop new life skills.

For the second year running, Caltex has once again partnered the People's Association (PA) to support this enrichment programme for students from less privileged backgrounds, as identified through PA’s grassroots network. The programme was facilitated by the PA Lifeskills and Lifestyle Division, with strong support provided by the grassroots organisations (GROs) from the constituencies of Choa Chu Kang, Geylang Serai, Pasir Ris East, Tanglin-Cairnhill and Woodgrove.

Besides core academic modules, the students were given the opportunity to pursue their interests and passion by taking part in two lifestyle courses of their choice, which were conducted by PA registered Trainers.

The Closing Carnival was held at the Henderson Community Club on 15 September 2013, in celebration of the children’s learning journey in achieving their dreams and aspirations in life. The students also shared their experiences and showcased skills they have picked up from the programme.
