Lights, Camera, Action! | Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2.0 GT

BY Burnpavement

When the Lancer EX arrived on our shores, we all thought it was a good-looking car. And as expected, it was indeed a hit with the local car buyers but what about enthusiasts?

The EX is the biggest Lancer to date. In Singapore, we're offered a rather weedy 1.5-litre variant, this beefier 2.0-litre as well as the Lancer EX Ralliart which had a turbo and four wheel drive. Oh, don't get us started with the mental Evolution X...

Let's stay on earth and focus on the practical models. While we weren't entirely impressed by the smallest engine option, the 2.0-litre option felt like a good all-rounder package when we first took it for a drive two years back.

Fast forward to today, with the aftermarket parts now widely available, Prem Roy's ride is certainly one of the good examples out there.

Let's start with some weight-shaving carbon-fibre stuff — the boot lid's by Robson Design, while that wing is from Carbon Revo...

...so is the hood. Can't help but admire that weave!

If you haven't noticed the blue 18-inch OZ Chrono HT's , take a look at what's behind them — gold 6-pot VTTR anchors complete with cross-drilled rotors for extra bite and stainless steel braided hoses that give a good brake pedal feel.

Grip comes courtesy of 225/40R18 Continental ContiSportContact 3 tyres. This car also rides lower and firmer thanks to BC Racing's BR series coilovers.

On the power front, the engine breathes through a Simota 3.5-inch close pod intake - and then out though a 4-2-1 extractor, high-flow cat, Fujitsubo Exos. To make full use of these mods, the ECU's been re-flashed too.

Not the craziest ICE setup but it keeps him happy, in the boot are the Rockford Fosgate Monoblock amp and Sound Stream's dual coil subwoofer

A Pioneer DVD headunit feeds a Lancer 4 channel amp that drives DLS 2-way component speakers in the front and CDT 2-way component speakers in the rear. The lights don't just end here...

To complete the package are exterior lighting fittings from Nightz Concept that range from undercarriage lights to a purple daytime running lights.

In all, this is a pretty well done up Lancer EX! Thank you Prem Roy for submitting your ride to be featured!
