Johorian winner clocks in 29.45 kilometres on one litre of Shell FuelSave 95.
Shell Malaysia kicked off the first leg of its regional Shell FuelSave Challenges by announcing Mr Tan Moh Chuan as the Johor state winner. The policeman clocked in 29.45 kilometres on one litre of Shell FuelSave 95 along a route of 80 kilometres and was awarded RM3,000 worth of prizes. He will now be in the running to win RM50, 000 in the Grand Finals in October 2011.
“Initially, I thought that the only way to use less fuel is to travel less, which is impossible as we have work and daily errands. However, that has changed since I have come to know about the Shell FuelSave Challenge – which shows us simple, practical ways to reduce fuel consumption,” said Mr Tan. He also added, “I am happy to emerge as the winner of this Shell FuelSave Challenge for Johor state and it is not just because of the prizes. The most important ‘prize’ I will take away with me are the Shell FuelSave tips; the first step towards reducing one’s fuel consumption.”
Encik Azman Ismail, Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd who hosted the event said, “Nowadays, more and more motorists are looking for ways to cut back on spending without compromising their lifestyle. Enriched with Shell Efficiency Improver, Shell FuelSave 95 is formulated to help motorists save up to one litre of fuel per tank. It is a lifestyle enabler which helps Malaysians stretch their ringgit. The Shell FuelSave Challenge, which depicts real city driving conditions, aims to demonstrate just how far Malaysian motorists can go with Shell FuelSave 95, accompanied with simple and practical Shell FuelSave tips.”
On top of that, fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Fahrin Ahmad, the Shell FuelSave Ambassador who will be making special appearances during Shell FuelSave Challenge recruitment roadshows to be held in Penang and Selangor. “As the Shell FuelSave Ambassador, there is nothing better than knowing that I am helping fellow Malaysians to improve their fuel consumption and driving styles. I too feel the pinch of the global economic situation as the nature of my job requires me to drive from one location to another. Thus, I hope by being a part of this Challenge, participants will be able to educate, encourage and promote to other motorists about Shell FuelSave tips, as well as the importance in choosing the right fuel for your car,” said the Shell FuelSave Ambassador.
To participate in the Shell FuelSave Challenge, motorists aged 24 and above, with five years of driving experience can head over to Shell FuelSave Roadshows to answer a few questions and go though the elimination process. The next Shell FuelSave Challenge recruitment roadshows will take place in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, Selangor (20 — 22 May 2011) and Sunway Carnival, Penang (3 — 5 June 2011).
