BY Burnpavement

Ever found that DTM races looked dull, despite all the roaring engines and souped up track burners? Not any more, once the 2011 season kicks off.

Audi has revealed its car designs for the 2011 DTM to coincide with the official season presentation this coming Sunday in Wiesbaden. The fans can look forward to a colourful grid as the nine Audi A4 DTM compete in eight different basic colours from white to shining yellow.

Timo Scheider, the 2008 and 2009 DTM champion competes for the first time in something other than a black Audi A4 DTM. The new car is white, adorned by sponsors "AUTO TEST", Nintendo and Audi Top Service.

Timo's team mate, Oliver Jarvis, gets his Audi A4 DTM in red, sponsored by AUDI AG and the Audi Bank.

Mattias Ekström, 2004 and 2007 DTM champion, will be driving a familiar blue primary colour of energy drink manufacturer Red Bull.

Mattias's new team mate, Mike Rockenfeller, gets his car painted in the classic yellow of the Deutsche Post AG and advertising its product E-POSTBRIEF.

Miguel Molina, a new member of the Red Bull Junior Team has a car that almost resembles Mattias's car, save for extra yellow highlights. Hence, there will be two cars carrying the Red Bull design on the grid for the first time since 2008.

Audi Sport Team Phoenix's driver, Martin Tomczyk has his car painted in luminous yellow at the front and green at the back, representing the colours of Schaeffler product brands LuK and INA.

Tomczyk’s new team mate, Rahel Frey drives a gold coloured Audi A4 DTM adorned with women’s magazine "Glamour" logo.

The two DTM newcomers Filipe Albuquerque and Edoardo Mortara from Audi Sport Team Rosberg will be driving A4 DTMs in light blue hues of television magazine "TV Movie" and a black A4 in the look of men’s magazine "Playboy." respectively.

“I’m sure the fans and especially TV viewers will be particularly pleased that we bring a very colourful mix of easily identifiable cars to the grid,” said Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport. He also added that the new partners AUTO TEST magazine and Deutsche Post positively speaks for the Audi brand and the DTM.
